Interesting that they are offering the rear wheel in both 19" and 20". It gives us options. Looks like about 1kg (2.2lb) saving per wheel. Not bad at all .

I understand it's a wheel produced for and sold by BMW (i.e. the conservative requirement), but I still wish they'd gone a bit more aggressive on wheel width and offset.

Thanks for posting this info up. Been patiently waiting for this for a while. Now if anyone has any info on pricing and when they might be available that would also be helpful

Some dealers have offered them already, as I have heard.

This shop is the only one who has the 19" set at the moment. 14/04/17 is mentioned as the estimated delivery date; ca. $5k.

I inquired and got the following pricing from the dealership:

36118053421 9Jx19 ET 29 $1460 CAD MSRP
36118053422 10Jx19 ET 40 $1600 CAD MSRP
36118053423 10Jx20 ET 40 $1730 CAD MSRP

The 9Jx19 and 10Jx20 are in stock in Germany. So I would say that these are ready to move (I guess I can place my order now)

Price per wheel?

That means a 19"-20" staggered set would be $6300CAD before tax

I think those could be interesting if they are offered as an option for a new vehicle purchase. But as a stand alone purchase, there are much better offering in terms of size (i.e. wider), weight and price in the aftermarket.

Thanks for the 763 M info! I haven't seen a 540 M... Do you mean 640 M? And wouldn't it make more sense to reference the 513 M as the 18-inch alternative?

513 M is what I meant to write; thanks for the heads up.

OEM aside, that's ridiculous pricing. I don't see the value in running high offset, (relatively) narrow wheels in the same pricing ballpark as some of the higher-end aftermarket companies with better fitment.

They look great, and I'm sure many will have the appetite to pay the freight, but I'll be admiring from a distance.

Yeah with that sticker price I wish them all the best in selling them. I am sure there are plenty suckers around to bite! Or maybe much deeper pockets than mine

And paying twice the price?

I don't think the price is too bad for a forged wheel. It's OEM too which isn't a bad thing. There will still be demand for OEM once everyone has moved on to the next platform. I can't necessarily say the same thing about HRE or BBS. There are a few wheels that tend to buck that trend (BBS LM's or Volk TE37) but for the most part you end up taking a huge hit on resale with alot of other wheels. The OEM stuff seems to move quicker on the used market from my experience.

Disagree, sorry. It's the aftermarket wheels that command the most on resale, especially years down the road. Look at the 437M wheels now, and even the 666M's to a certain extent. They're worth nothing relative to what they are.

Considering wheels like BC forged and Signature (to only name two) - fully forged, way cheaper, way better sizing, and way better offsets - the value is there short term. I'd rather spend the additional money making my car faster or prettier .

Update:

The €5k price tag is for a complete set of rims and Cup2 tires.

In Germany, the price per 19" rim is roughly $850 and $1,050 for 20" rim.

I don't really see the point of these. I'm assuming people would buy these for track purposes since they are lightweight.

But why not just save the cash and get some 18" 513M? I know you wouldn't be able to fit wider tires on them but the same applies to the 763M wheels so...

Not everyone wants to run wheels with an aggressive offset and isn't the FI-R a lot more money?

IMHO the 763M looks way better than the 513M.

The 18s wont fit over CCB and the 763M are wider by .5" front and rear, so they will fit wider tires on them.

Sadly they are not.

The 763M are the same width as the 513M, 437M and CP666M. Only the GTS666M are wider (by 0.5").

That makes the 763M sort of pointless as replacement or a second set of wheels IMO. There are better options in the aftermarket with better sizes, particularly for track wheels. I can see the 763M being an attractive proposition if it is offered as an upgrade option on a new car though.

I thought these were being advertised as the lightest wheel BMW currently makes. edit: I misread. Either way, if that german pricing is accurate, that means these new wheels will be priced similarly to the 437Ms. I'd only go for these if they were a checkbox for an ordered car.

Do you have an example of lighter BMW factory wheel of same size?

Based on the info in the OP, they are the lightest offering on the F8X platform (comparing same size wheels).
