The ZR1 will solve those problems for both transmissions with its front bumper setup. |

While I am waiting for my 2018 BMW M4 Convertible ZCP, I sometimes have buyer's remorse thinking I could get so much more power, more exhaust note, a better V8 engine than the M4s with this slightly cheaper car......... sigh...

As expected, the interior isn't as nice as the M3, but it is way better than the last gen. and looks/feels better in the flesh than pictures indicate. The windows also don't rattle inside the door when you shut them anymore, so initial quality appears to be much better than the gen 5. The main drawback for me is the lack of adjustable lumbar support, although the seats are comfortable otherwise. I just need to do some more adjusting and adapt I think. Rear seating isn't the best, but my SO and her teenage boy rode back there comfortably. Beats the 'vette. Visibility isn't great, but I was used to it in about an hour. Blind spot monitoring and a backup camera are standard, which goes a long way to alleviate any shortcomings here. Everything else is way beyond the M3, sadly. The car has way more standard tech. and comforts than the M3 did, and that's without spending nearly $1800 on the performance data recorder and navigation (which I did anyway). HUD? Standard. Android Auto/Apple Carplay? Standard. Heated seats/steering wheel? Standard. Ventilated seats? Standard. The ride is significantly better, even on the standard 20 inch wheels vs. the 18s I had on the M3. The amazing thing is that it still manages to noticeably outhandle the M3. This chassis is truly a work of art. Further proof of the merits of the chassis is the fact it handles the 200+ extra hp/torque with aplomb. Combined with the performance traction management and the eLSD, this gets the power to the ground in a way the M3 could not. The other great thing is the noise. The V8 with the supercharger whine brings all kinds of aural pleasure. Combined with the aggressive looks, this gets way more attention than my M3 ever did. I'm not sure if that's a plus, as I like to be a bit more low key. Take it from a German car snob, a sedan guy, and someone who really isn't a GM/American car fan at all . . . this is quite the car. |

Let us know what you think. No question, this is quite the bargain. I couldn't even get it above $65K trying...and I love that the MT beat the auto in the Motor Trend video! Having driven BMW sedans since 1999, I'm just not there yet. I want some stealth, no or small/retractable spoilers, etc. Kudos to GM for sure.

I'll be lucky to make it to the track once or twice a year, so I couldn't deal with the comparatively harsh ride the rest of the time. |

I've seen these Camaro's when I'm out, and they look cool, sound great. But I don't think I could give up my M4 for one, even with the extra power and the tech-y interior of the Camaro. I love how super simple looking the M4 interior is. And I have the base, non-leather interior! |

Ride and drive in m4 is still better, it's less exaggerated more composed for daily driving and way better behaved on the streets

I sat in a Camaro and the first thing I noticed was that outward visibility sucks. That was all it took to convince me that I didn't want one.

ZL1 1LE will be a different story though as far as ride goes, as it's more track focused. It's a bit jarring at first, but you really do get used to it quick. I got the sunroof to feel a bit less claustrophobic, which was really the worst part of the cabin without it. |

I'm not much of an american muscle guy, but the '69 COPO Camaro was one of the classic muscle cars I liked a lot, more so than the Mustangs, although my dad was a Mustang driver. The ZL1 looks very promising, especially for the price.

Well I am jumping ship to a ZL1 1LE after having 2 E92 M3's and a F82 M4 as my last cars. The 1LE will not be a daily driver for the most part but should a very quick trackcar for not a lot of money compared to what else is this quick. The car that I earned my 1st drivers licence on was my mom's 67 Camaro so I guess Camaro's have always been in my life including racing a few in Endurance races over the years.I am quite looking forward to getting a real serious track day car.
