Wow. I always thought that you revved it to about 3k rpm and popped the clutch. Guess I was doing it wrong

Is it true that one launch control puts wear on the clutch as if you've driven it 50,000 KMS so it isn't really recommended to do it?

Just as you wouldn't do a smokey burnout every week, it would be advisable not to use launch control every week either without premature wear.

ahh great, thanks for posting this, at least now I know it's not as dangerous as putting 50,000kms wear on the transmission so I might try it sometime Can't remember where I read that the wear it does on the transmission as as bad as driving the car for 50,000 KMS

Thanks for posting this video. Although I did do launch control before, I didn't know about changing the revs using the cruise control knob.

IMO, 3.5k (even 3k) is too much for the car to handle to get a good launch without spinning your rear tires. Apparently, some of us are not able to adjust lower due to a newer software version. Maybe the tuners are able to change it.

So what's the best RPM to launch?

I don't know, I'm not able to validate, lol.

Think I've read somewhere something like 2-2.5k is the sweet spot.

Not sure you can go that low.

I'm assuming that even though you are in manual mode, the car will automatically upshift for you?

Only if you keep the gas pedal pinned to the floor. If you let off, the driver has to shift.

Premature wear is kind of like premature ejaculation; it's not ideal but it was still worth doing.

Everything in moderation is ok.

The real question is why have a launch control feature that doesn't give a launch or control....
