My Very First Post About My Very First M.
Good morning everyone! My name is Omar and it's about 11:10am where I'm currently at. I live in Los Angeles, more specifically Woodland Hills. I've been on Bimmerpost for quite a while but never really posted anything. It's funny, I kind of made myself a promise that my first post would be a post stating that I was able to reach my goal of having an M car. I just didn't think I'd be making this post so soon. This is my BMW journey in a nutshell.
I've been infatuated with BMW cars at a decently early age. Can't really recall when I started liking the brand but I'm going to say I was about 9. (I'm 23 now.) My brother actually got me into BMW because he too, was obsessed with the cars. Mainly the M models. At the time, the E46 M3 was out and it was an absolute beauty. We would talk about it's greatness for hours and wouldn't get bored. Anyhow, my love for the brand would continue as I got older. By the time I was able to actually drive, the E92 M3 was out and it was a monster. I wanted it so bad but every time I opened my wallet, butterflies flew out. Moving along, my parents blessed me with a 1999 Ford Explorer and I was more than happy to take it. Having that freedom of going wherever I wanted was the best and I had a blast in that car. It wasn't very fast or good looking but I put an upgraded and obnoxiously loud sound system and I would always be bumping music until my ears bled. I had gotten a credit card as soon as I was able to and built my credit up and one day just stumbled onto a used car dealership and found a really nice E46 330i in 5MT and let's just say heart eyes emoji. AMIRITE? I decided to give it a shot. Why not try to buy it. The salesman was nice and he seemed trustworthy right? (lol) Fast forward 4 hours and they handed me the keys. What did I just do... I was working at my first job at the time (Target) and I was only part-time. Crap. My dad's going to have a fit. Oh well, it's done. No turning back now. Let's pull out of the dealership flooring it! Needless to say, before I started having tranny issues, that car gave me some of the funnest times in my life. It was my very first BMW and it was loads faster than the Ford. Couldn't complain. 10/10. Moving on. I had two jobs and I remember knowing that I was off work from both jobs which was rare so I was thinking about what I would do the next day. I know! Let's go to a BMW Dealership to just gaze at the F30's and such. So that's exactly what I did. I knew I wasn't going to be approached by a salesman so that's cool with me. I'm just looking around anyway. I eventually had a salesman walk up to me to see if I'd like to test drive anything. I drove a 328i fully loaded and it felt like a rocket ship. It was so fast! After the drive, he told me that he could try to get me into one. My excitement level shot up. Fast forwarding 4 hours again and I'm pulling off in a 320i that was a loaner which no options paying what most would pay for a well equipped 5 series. I thought I made a mistake buying the E46, I felt like I just dug myself deeper into a hole but...I had an F30! WhooHoo!! In case you're wondering, yes my dad did 3 backflips when I got home. And I don't mean that in a good way.) -Fast forward- Besides the fact that I had a BMW already, the thought of wanting an M wouldn't leave my mind. It never did. And the F82 M4 had just came out and I couldn't stop drooling. It was so aggressive, so gorgeous, and I actually liked the exhaust a lot. But I felt like I wouldn't have it for quite some time. I've always been a positive person and believed in myself and knew I'd have it, I just didn't know when. I end up getting a great job that I've been working at for quite some time now and I'm currently in the process of opening a business in the automotive industry with my dad. I would be on cars.com every single day just to see what kind of M4's were on sale. I found a stunning Sakhir Orange M4 with a DCT tranny, practically fully loaded minus the Drivers Asst. Plus package for a crazy low price and super low miles. This was it. I've built my credit up my entire life. I've gone through bad deal after bad deal and I worked as a car broker in Beverly Hills a little while back so I now had some experience on negotiating and working out solid deals. My current job paid well enough for me to comfortably pay for it and my parents actually encouraged me to do it which was huge so I drove right over, talked my ass off, signed the papers and it was done! After wanting an M for so long, it finally happened. I have an M4. I have accomplished a huge goal and couldn't feel happier. I had my parents with me at the dealership and I couldn't thank them enough for their endless support and I wanted to share that special moment with them. I've had the car for just a little over 3 weeks now and every time I park and walk away from it, I can't help but look back at her. It's such a surreal feeling. I've already gotten it coded and I'm currently looking at getting an exhaust upgrade as my first major mod. I'm excited for the future and had a blast typing out my story to share with you guys. Hope I didn't bore you all too much. It's Sunday and it's beautiful outside. I think I'm going to hit Mulholland Canyon (The Snake) and enjoy a nice cruise along the coast of the beach. (PCH for those of you who live out here.) Thank you so much for reading everyone! It's been a crazy journey but I wouldn't have it any other way. Hope to chat it up with all of you and I'll be posting a lot more from now on. Have an awesome day guys. -Omar Side note: Are there any of you who own F8X's and live in Woodland Hills or surrounding areas? Let's hang out and go for a cruise one of these days! I'd love to meet more BMW enthusiasts and I quite enjoy making new friends. Cheers! |
