To be fair the sapphire preferred is the same. I didn't get my app in on the reserve soon enough so I got stuck with the plastic version for a bit. On second thought, since this does annoy me a bit, where the hell can I find a better looking key?

You know you can get the sapphire preferred for $95 and it's the same card

To stay on topic- that x6 key posted above should definitely be reserved for all real M cars.

It's not the same card. There are more benefits with the reserve and u earn more points through it as well.

I just want a fob cover that isn't bulky and won't let me accidentally open my trunk when I'm doing yard work. It's annoying to see my trunk just randomly pop open.

I think he/she meant the physical card is metal. I have a sapphire and it's a metal card. I'd hope for $450/year that you'd get more benefits....

who gives a fuck? You get $300 back in travel credit immediately and if you buy pre-check/GE you that back too. Then if you spend $4000 in 3 months you get 100,000 points which is worth AT LEAST $1500, but way more if you exchange them for partner points like with Hyatt.

Both my wife and I got one and it's basically like doing 30 minutes of work and 3 months later getting a check for $4,000.

It's like a small lottery win.

I do find it funny that the car itself has a jillion "M" badges, including those light-up ones in the front seats, but the key is more or less the same as the one that comes with a 320i (yes, I know it has a silver applique on it). Ironically, the key fob shaped flash drive they send you as a present even has an "M" on it. The S4 fob had the "S4" with the red Audisport slash on it.

It is not really a big deal, but it is a nice touch. I particularly like the motorsport stripes on the X5M fobs.
