Is it just me or has BPM and VF been suspended from posting or something? Based on Mike's post above I reached out the VF for clarification and no response. And theres no posts from them today either.

I still have a deposit for the first allocation at my dealer.

Albeit the wait is getting ridiculous. We still do not have pricing, packaging nor availability for Canada and it's been close to a year since the official reveal. According to my original plans, I was supposed to change my car last summer. If this goes on much longer, I will simply order an M4 with CP and have it coded and tuned.
ZCP or updating ur current car would make most sense when the software is available.

But I understand the pull of the CS for asthetic reasons.

I see BP_ had to redact certain comments against other vendors.

If Mike is being honest with us I don't know why they would make him remove those comments because it's useful information.

Yes it is useful info but why reference the posts... one could make the point without pointing fingers. There is so much drama behind the scenes it's pretty silly! Maybe they are taking a timeout in the corner

If all vendors offered those OEM like tunes, and that above policy, IÂ’d choose the lowest cost, then by the best vendor. Some vendors have more staff, more experience and more equipment than others, if that matters to you!

It is crazy that for a stock M, allegedly you can get a stage 2 70/60 increase on 91+ fuel... for less than $1kUSD!
Mike Benvo at BPMSport has my vote .
I just ordered my stage 1 ecu tune from BPM sport
Really tempted to do the CS tune for my civic m4. Especially with the burbles.

Aren't you guys worried about warranty or something when you guys bring your car for service? I have 2.5 years of warranty left and I'm a bit hesitant to pull the trigger on this.

There is always a warranty concern.. anyone that tells you otherwise is not being truthful.

If you want to be safe as possible, we can add the burbles to your current software and I don't think it would present an issue as there won't be anything out of the ordinary - and you can flash back prior to service.

I pulled comments out of courtesy to a vendor that contacted us.

Thanks Mike for the quick response. Hard to justify to spend $1000 US for burbles without any increase in power.

If I do it, it will prob be the CS tune.

I've been following your multiple threads, and waiting to see what else unfolds in January. Perhaps you can shed some light?

And FYI, I can only assume there is no response because something was advertised as implemented even though it absolutely was not.

If that's who people choose to do business with, so be it. It's not the way we do it.

What/which gas are people (here in Canada) planning on using for their tunes? Being from BC, our gas options are limited and as such our options for which "tune stage" to select are also limited.

The tune results (even just the Stage I results) are so impressive, opting to purchase a CS does become a more difficult decision (assuming you don't have any hesitancy/issues with tuning).

Probably not the right place to ask/post this question, but does anyone know if any vendors other than BPM also update the I-Step version during the flashing process? It may not seem like a big deal, but I think receiving an updated I-Step version is a nice bonus.

It is exciting times for performance enthusiasts. For ~$1000 and a very small amount of effort, there are some crazy gains to be had.

Do you not have a Chevron with 94 near you? Or a Shell with 91?

Revscene people have been experimenting since a long ago. They say Chevron 94 has more knocking than Shell 91. Husky 94 as well. But US Chevron 92 just across the border held better results than anything offered up here. I used exclusively put in Chevron 94 but I also 'feel' Shell 91 is smoother and better (even before I read up Revscene).

YMMV, Yes and no, there are few recent user posts that with newest Istep update, they are not happy with how the car “puts power down”, wether true or false...

And this recent post by Evolve http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1454386 shows objectively that BMW did change something on how our cars “put power down” but did not specify the Istep for the different years.

I do.

After a bit of research the issues seem to be as follows. As much as the Chevron 94 sounds great, it doesn't have any ethanol in it. As such the RON rating is much lower than what a person might assume from a 94 AKI octane. The same apparently holds true for the Shell 91 (no ethanol). The oddball in the group of available gas is the Chevron 91, as it might actually have ethanol in it (E5-ish) and thus "might" be the best option for a boosted application. I tried asking a Chevron attendant if they knew the amount of ethanol in the 91 octane fuel, and they looked at me like I was from Mars, so I left it at that. ;-)

I need to double check, but I think the BC Husky is either now using a different formula for their 94, or they have stopped selling 94 in BC? I.e. I can't remember the details but I seem to remember that Husky wasn't a viable option either? I would need to verify/research this again though. If you have any information on the Husky 94, please do share. That would be a big help.

I have studied and studied those dyno charts, and I have compared them to dynos from other vendors (as much as person can compare dynos via jpegs!) and the results are utterly fascinating. Both from a 2016 vs. 2017 vs. ZCP vs CS perspective and also in regards to people complaining about the "puts power down issue" (after an I-Step update). I believe at least one member insisted the dealer return his/her car to an earlier I-Step version (after which he/she reported the car returned to how it was). The Evolve dynos show ~100 ft/lb decrease in torque in the lower RPM, which gives much credibility to the I-Step upgrade complaints. It also makes me wonder about aftermarket tunes. Which which ones still have the torque there? Which ones don't?

The US Chevron 92 is a "tuner's dream" for boosted applications (due to its ethanol content).

I am sort of considering this since my friend recently did OEM through Alex.

Although I have CP already so...
