So they cut out the rear arm rest to save on weight but they have navigation and power seats as standard???
I don't get their logic in doing that but okay... I mean, power seats and the nav system surely weighs well over 100lbs. |

I saw the header image on the Bimmerpost home page and was like, "Is that David's M3?!?" Why yes, yes it is.
More on topic, I don't suppose you still have the F80 on site? |

Not sure where you are getting the slowest #'s possible for the e9x 0-60 times, unless both #'s are posted directly from BMW.
Even though that may also be the average driver, much faster times have been reported with DCT by caranddriver; lets not forget the power of N/A |

Thanks for posting.
These real life side-by-side photos make the F80 look more like an evolution rather than a complete overhaul in design language. Would've loved to see some more shots of the rear ends though

Exactly. I don't need either of these options.

Interesting fact about the battery you mention in fact #2. Lithium batt weighing 28lbs less than the E90 one. I wanted to mention this cause I was looking back at a post made by a member here living in Spain, where he installed a Voltphreaks battery and everyone slammed him for doing so. What I find interesting is that BMW is now putting lithium batteries in the next gen M3/4. I wonder what the naysayers are going to say about this and reliability.
Thanks for the pics, car looks awesome! |

Weight reduction is important in any car, but 10 grams...

long gone sorry my friend. There were a few forum members who had their cars in for service who happen to be on site at the right time which was cool but other then that who knows where the car will show up next. I think after next week it will be out of SoCal and will have moved on to other marker area.

Thanks for posting this. Just wondering:
"10. the exhaust note run through the cabin is in fact from a microphone in the engine bay " So, the microphone picks up the engine sound? Because exhaust noise would be in the rear, no? |

Wow, I can't believe how wide the F80 looks compared to the E90. I really like it in YMB but agree it needs a CF roof.
I like the idea of the Li battery but I wonder how if will do in extreme cold temps. I know with motorcycle versions, they have a really hard time. I'm disappointed to see that the seats are not ventilated. It's not an option I really have to have but why the fake perforations? Overall, the sound is still the biggest 'what if' for me. Although by the time the comp package becomes available, I might be over it no matter how it sounds! |

Personally I think that the changes between the e46 and e90 are far more than e90 to f80...with that said it's hard for me to let my e90 go for an f80. I'll have to wait and see if taking on a payment is worth it. I just can't reason paying a g month for a car that resembles my paid for beast in the garage...although the bells and whistles will be up to date...

For me the most exciting aspect of the new M3 is the steering. Will it be
the best EPS on the market? Maybe even be better than the respected hydraulic steering? Looking forward to the tests and reviews of the car. |
