F82 No Auto-Up Passenger Window?
Just noticed that my Passenger window wont go up Automatically. Is this a broken window button? or does the passenger window need to be held to go all the way up?
Noticed last night for the first time, i think its broken otherwise i would of realized a while ago... Any input here? |

You might just need to ask the dealer to run through the appropriate ISTA routine to get auto functionality. 90% likely that it was just a port or dealership oversight regarding post-transport mode preparation.

With the ignition on (vehicle does not need to be running), Lift and hold both driver/pass window switches in the UP position for ~20 seconds to reinitialize the windows.

Oh guys - heres the update on this situation. BMW says that there is Water/Dirt Damage... which is why the window wont go up Automatically. They will not cover the cost of the part / repair. Going to run me around $450... I told them to leave it be, and ill deal with it. Not such a big deal, but its pretty annoying.

yes BMW tried resetting the windows per your advise. They said it didnt help.
Im going to go to the dealer tomorrow and see if they can cover it. I Take good take of the car, Especially in the rain. Its not comfortable driving in the rain with the windows down. Not sure what to do here. Not alot of information was given to me besides the fact that they wont cover it. You think a manager would be best to speak with? |

LOL Ive never heard of it disabling a feature. Ive gotten rain and dirt in my F80 and F82 and have never had an electrical issue. If it was going to malfunction, it would have most likely damaged the entire power window.

Remind the dealer about the multi-millon dollar settlement for water damage .....unless there is clear evidence that someone did something to damage the mechanism, they should be covering it. Does not cost them anything.....some dealers.

I would ask for clear evidence and if they wont provide it or fix the window then ask them for the contact info for the regional BMW service administrator and tell them you are going to file a complaint with BMW corp. Sounds like they are just being douchey and trying to get you to believe their nonsense. My guess is they are trying to double dip(get warranty money and your money...yes very shady) because this is a clear warranty issue unless you did something really dumb.

Picked up the car this morning and got into a fuss with them. They claim it is 100% water / dirt damage. According to them, they pulled everything apart and saw it.
I then told them "What do you mean you saw it? Is there a sticker that turns red when its gets wet? What is this, an Iphone? Show me" They said they cant show me as they would have to take it apart again. Honestly, i dont think they touched anything, as there was still cigarette ash by my buttons. Doesnt look like anyone even touched the car. At the end of the day, What do you guys think i should do? Call corporate? I didnt speak to a manager as he was not around. Your help will be awesome. Rly dont like where this is going. |

Even if you go to another dealer, you should still contact corporate. They should be aware of this situation.
