NJMP Lightning - finally just eeked into the :12's, with an optimal of low 12's. Lap 10 was on track to be a mid-12 but got hung up near the end - bah!

1:40.9 at Barber Motorsports Park last May
2017 M2 (TC Kline, RE71Rs, SPL, PFC08, BM3 S2) Gearing up for fall season where temps down here turn ideal. Hoping to crack 1:39.XX with the cooler weather and more seat time. Last edited by ThreeStripes; 09-18-2023 at 01:45 PM.. |

VIR, first time, what a track
Nothing special at 2:10, but happy with that for first time. Catalyst gave me an optimal of 2:08's. Corded 2 of the RE-71RS's on the 3rd session of second day. MCS 2WNR, RE71-RS, 034 2-pc rotors, PFC11 Random thoughts: - The 71RS feels very nice, but only got 4 days out of them (~18 sessions/HC's) - The big braking zones at VIR are pleasantly smooth; I'm used to the washboard surface at NJMP - It's amazing how modern sims prepare you so well for the line, I ran this quite a bit in iRacing and really felt at home on the first session. I was thinking the roller coaster/hog pen section would be very tricky at first, but at least at my speeds it just felt natural and flowed very well. I was going down to 3rd briefly in hog pen but that's really not necessary. - Found myself short-shifting to maintain traction in a couple areas, not sure I had to but it felt better (exit of 1, and that first sharp right into the lower esses -- seems slick there) - Obviously low-T through the upper esses - Very easy to overslow going into Oak Tree. Approaching the 2 phases of that corner using a squared-off/diamond line seems to be the best way to think about it. Being on full throttle on exit as you diagonally cross over & back on the big curbs is fun -- definitely a jolt to the car that I haven't experienced on prior tracks. We got lucky with perfect weather. Will definitely plan to get back there sometime! |

Road America 2:37.30 First run in advanced group. TBH I have quite a bit of time to make up in braking zones. RA scares me a little bit with the high speeds so I was taking it pretty easy on the big braking zones. Also a little down on power. I lost about 5mph on the straights switching over to Wisconsin 91 from 93. Great Lap! Attaching a map of a BP station that’s really close to the track that has 93. It’s where I fuel up. It’s at the bottom right on the map. Hope to catch-up with you at the track next season.

Sadly, kept running into DCT fluid temperature issues that kicked me into a limp mode. Had tons of theoretical 26s in there, until the limp mode triggers... JRZ RSTwo Sport, SPL Kinematics, Flossmann Aero, Brembo Pista Front BBK, 295/35/18 A052, 500whp

Hey FrankMstein , suggestions? There is some racing grade at the track, like 100 and 110 I believe.

There is a shell and amoco in Plymouth as well. I stayed at lake elkhart this time so it was convenient just to get it there. I might stay in sheboygan again and there are a ton of big names right there.
