Anyone in our Frozen Nation done the side reflector delete?

I am about to order some stuff from IND for when Lucy arrives and am considering getting rid of those ugly front reflectors.

Technically, it is a requirement under the Vehicle Equipment Regs....but I would have a hard time guessing that anyone has ever been given a ticket for it.

Just wondering if anyone else here has gone ahead and ever experienced any blow back from 'the man' as a result.

I had painted reflectors on my E46 and the same for my F80. Never been hassled for them even at Checkstops. I have been hassled for front window tint and my front euro plate before though!

Absolutely none. Tires, wheels, grill and reflectors. Check, check, check and check.

Had painted reflectors on two previous E92 M3s and have them on current M4 and never had an issue!

I just brought my car in to the dealer today to have my front bumper replaced (it was slightly damaged during transit back from Europe after ED).

I asked them to paint the reflectors at the same time they paint my bumber. This just saved my the cost of buying painted reflectors .

I really appreciate the service I get from my dealer (BMW Canbec), they have been very nice to me .

I really wish my dealer were as accommodating as yours. You definitely got a winner.

Please post a picture, once you get your car back with new bumper. I also want the painted reflector on my F80 as well.

BTW, did you ask the dealer to see if you can get the Euro bumper instead or ask them to fill the gap between the reflector and bumper to make it smooth finish?

Yes, I did ask if they could order a Euro bumper; that was my first idea. But sadly, they cannot order it, it shows as "unavailable" in Canada. I was told that someone needs to order one first to setup all the customs trail for import. My dealer went all the way to BMW Canada to try to have them set it up, but BWW Canada refused on the basis that the bumper is illegal in Canada. So I am resorting to the next best thing.

I think you can order the Euro Bumper via IND.

(out of curiosity, other than the reflectors, what are the other differences with the Euro Bumper?)

Since it is BMW Canada that is paying for my bumper cover, I doubt they'd be willing to go trough IND

I would believe that the holes for the reflectors is the only difference.

I got the car back last week. The colour match of the painted reflectors is absolutely perfect. With the short daylight of the season, I did not get a chance to take some pics, I will on the first occasion.

There is one here in Edm with the front reflector delete. Guy bought it and his wife made him trade it back, so the dealership is selling it.
