Great story! One question though, what about the New England winters now that you're stuck with RWD again?

This was truly an amazing read. I felt like I walked the journey with you, and you've officially made me determined to own an F80 (as if the car itself isnt enough of a reason). Hearing you detail it all makes me want it even more.

Great write-up and congrats.

thanks for sharing! fun to skim through.

I have to admit though, that after seeing all the random cars you switched across, I wondered if you could have just gone into a super $$$ car for the same cost.

Wow, what a great read. Really glad to hear that you finally ended up where you wanted to be. The order of the cars was crazy though. I probably would have sent those flowers after all of that help haha. Good thing she was there for you. The way you separated each section into when you found the time was great. Looking forward to seeing more posts. Enjoy the car.

2013 335 xdrive

Great post! Congrats on the F80. Got my fingers crossed I can pick one up by the fall.

Well, I found a couple of local 2014 335i M Sport at dealerships near me, and i'll be darned! These f30's felt NOTHING like I remember my 2013 335i!!! The steering was much improved, the chassis felt slightly stiffer (maybe the dampers), exhaust felt nicer and the throttle response was sooo much better! Not rubbery anymore!!! Wow. I had some serious thinking and re-thinking to do!

Please tell me about this update. Can I get it added to my 2013 335 xdrive?

I know exactly what you mean when you say:

It was disappointing to say the very least.

Better cars than women my man. It's says so in the marriage contract.

That's my saving grace. I tell my wife that BMW's are really my only "sickness". No drugs, no women (she's my sweetheart!), and I even promised to quit all the gangs I used to be part of!

Which Mazda? I'm telling you, that Mazda3 had such a nice engine and manual transmission! It was so likeable! You could rev it, punch it, throw it into corners and it just was a blast doing it! You don't get the feedback that the car is squeamish or nervous doing it. The only reason I sold it was to get the GTI (long time crush)!

I am thoroughly convinced that the DCT in an e90 M3 would make up for many of my complaints about the car. After test driving an f82 DCT and f82 6MT back to back, I am convinced that the these cars were built aorund the DCT. I was totally confused for a few days and almost ... almost went with the DCT. But in the end, my stubborn ways, lack of ample logic and restless foot syndrome, won!

Glad you like the f80, enjoy it in good health!
Thank you so much!

Thanks again!!

Wow! Now THAT is how a brand new e21 should look! What a BEAUTY! I still love the design by the way. That whole era of BMW's still moves me.

The new ones look like pretty amazing too, I am drinking the Kodo kool-aid
