Compare with Porsche offering its 918 Spyder customers, early 2015, the option to secure a Cayman GT4.

918 Spyder customers got a right of first refusal during a brief time window. Subsequently the reserved slots were released.

For that kind of money you should be able to choose any paint color option.

Bottom line - if you claim to be an M car enthusiast but don't own one ( ) but, you do own and track a Porsche 911 GT3, then you're in.
This was my process :
Feb 5: I was contacted by dealership person. Asked for vin #'s of my Z8, SLS AMG and 911. Then asked for 10k non refundable deposit and pick 2 colors.
Monday feb 8: dealer person called and informed I will receive notice from BMW NA with a production number any time during next 2 weeks.

Congratulations!
You didn't mention receiving the "personalized voucher," supposedly, sent to the chosen ones. So, I guess you're part of some other sort of selection process.
Not interested in any amounts, but, curious to know if any "market adjustment" is going to be applied to your purchase?

As far as I understand, I was the "first" on the dealer's list and I will be paying MSRP. Probably I will be receiving the voucher this upcoming week!.
Let's see..

As far as I know "being first on the dealer's list" and being selected to receive a voucher are mutually exclusive. In other words, 150 units going to selected voucher individuals who do not even have to appear on a list or give a deposit other than to inform BMW of their interest in obtaining the car. Once selected, simply take the Voucher to any BMW dealer and they will be able to obtain an allocation for these individuals.

On the other hand, BMW M enthusiasts (certified) dealers who qualify will receive 1 of an additional 150 total allocations to be provided to customers of their choosing (first on the list).

A friend of mine put a reservation in when the car was first released, the dealership happened to get the allocation alloted and filled it for him at MSRP,

He got very lucky,

Didn't you say that you were getting one as well? If so, how is the process working out for you?

Just got the call. I need 5000 non refundable deposit and I get it for MSRP. I would rather have a M2 GTS...if they make one. Decisions, decisions....

Even if they do make a M2 GTS or CSL. I don't think it will be as hardcore as the M4 GTS. I also don't think they will come out with a M4 CSL for this generation.

I think we're at the same dealer who is supposedly getting 5. This does not compute with 150x1 per dealer scenario?

I decided to pass on getting the M4 GTS. My wife said I would have to sell my 1M and I just can't do that. So if anyone would like this one I will give you the name and number of my salesman. But be prepared to pay over MSRP since your not local...not sure how much more. Just send me a message and I will give you the contact info.
