The OP also said that he took his winter tires off too early. As for "why live in the northeast", I know that I'm damn glad that I no longer live in the Michigan slop in the winter.

I live in the general vicinity of where Jay hit the curb. I drive my M4 year-round. Had the top down several days running a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday I took my wife's X3 because the snow was deeper in many places than the rockers on the M4. Today I'm back in the M4. Good winter tires are a must.

[QUOTE=jpics80;21397248]Hit a curb after sliding maybe 10 feet. Bent pieces of the suspension and ruined my wheel. The total came up to $10,000 and not a single body panel was scratched.
100% possible and if anything you got off easy.. good part is if its bent and replaced your as good as new.. not like body work where the wrong shop can turn you 70k car in to a car that needs to go to a whole sale auction it looks so bad lol it can go through insurance. same thing happened to my mom a few years back.. slid in the snow/ice on her block and hit the curb with the right side of the car.. both wheels, zero body damage, couldn't have been going more then 10 mph but rapid deceleration bends everything.. car had 12k in damage all under the car.. basically every suspension item under both fenders, front and rear as well as the shocks and both wheels and tires.. as long as the shop changes out everything that is the least bit questionable you will be perfectly fine.. good luck |

Typical deductible for collision is $1,000. Find someone a beater for $1,000 (that has at least a moderate standard of living). |
