The M4 has been spied with a version of its own already for the CS model testing.

Am I the only one confused as to why so many people assumed the F82 lci wouldn't mirror the F80 lci? Why would BMW give the F82's a different set of tail lights (oled)?

The m4 tail lights are shaped differently to the m3 anyway

They aren't always as similar as you think.

The previous gen E90 only had LED turn signals with LCI. The E92 and E93 got turn signal LED lights AND brake LED when they were released two years later. So of course there was speculation the F82 might get OLED. But there was also a fair bit of skepticism that it would remain an exclusive GTS piece.

On that note, there are always things that the M4 might get over the M3. One of those is possible headlight changes with the LCI. Which the M3 did not have.

Further, the E92/3 base series also received LED angel eyes with LCI that the base series E90 did not get. Those were however not incorporated on the ///M series, but I am mentioning it to highlight that the coupe can get more changes than the sedan since it receives its LCI a few years later.

But only as an option.

Even if no OLED, still so much better than what's current.

I wonder how much, packaged with other things? Def something I will consider for my future 440 depending on price. Can't wait to see those.

I know I am repeating myself, but the M4 already has LED taillights

You know BMW's marketing ploys work well when everyone gets excited over LED taillights.

Oh wow! How big of a letdown is this for the M4 owners? I don't have an M4, and I cringed when I saw this. Really thought they were gonna go OLED.

Why would future tail lights have any impact on current M4 owners?

Not a letdown at all. Only snowflake M4 owners are up in arms about it.

All M cars should have LED rears as standard from the off, no question. Incandescents, in my opinion, degrade an otherwise great looking car.
Even some ordinary cars run around with LEDs
The Toyota Corolla had LED FRONT lights...

How has no one picked up on this?

5AN is OLED:

5AN Bmw Organic Light

So not standard, but available. Which would explain why we've seen OLEDs on prototypes and mules.

I actually Googled it yesterday but didn't get the terms right (or something) because I didn't get any good hits. Then I got busy and forgot to go back to it. But I just tried again, and you are correct, of course. Here's some M4 GTS literature (from BMW Canada) that confirms that 5AN is the code for "BMW Organic LED Taillights":

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/att...6&d=1451929933

Now, assuming ynguldyn's info is good (it almost always is spot on), the next question is, how much do they charge for these? I'm guessing at least $1500.
