Honestly a lot of you guys are raving about the price, but I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of $80k+ M3's rolling around....that's not all that great.

You're probably right, but for now the base price looks real good. The biggest question now, for me, is whether the LCI/ZCP will be a model year 2 introduction a la the M5.

$62k MSRP. Exec package might be $5k, maybe a few other options. I can see a lot of $71-73k M3's rolling around, but unless the CCB's are a must have I don't see it.

Yes, nothing certain but I'll probably consider getting one next year or the year after, but unfortunetly that would mean I would have to get rid of my e92, I also have an Evo X as a winter beater so as much as I love my M3 I can't really keep all these cars!

UK has only 3 packages, Media Package, Active Security Package, and Advanced Parking Package. There are a lot of standard options and a long list of non-standard options. The list won't match what we get in the US, but should give us an idea on all the available options a la carte. I recommend all potential F8x US buyers take a look at this UK price list while we wait for the US price list. |

But at the same time, the $3750/$4500 increases must include some quite significant increase in standard equipment. |

Overall, the price is what it is.....good value for modest options, and a little too rich if you want it fully optioned.....which is the same way it goes for every single BMW model.

How is the 3 series "far ahead" of the ATS? Having driven both, the base ATS is quite a better for handling and steering than a 335i. Pretty much every journalist and engineer that I know that's driven them would agree. The M3 is a different animal, but so is the V series. There's no guarantee that the M3 will be better than its competition this time around. I also think you're taking their comments out of context. He didn't officially comment that there would be an ATS-V, but it's basically a foregone conclusion at this point, it's just a matter of when they announce it. And the "not cheap" comment just means that the pricing will end up more in line with the M3. If the content is there, this is perfectly fine. |
