Comfort level for long distance travel?
Is the car comfortable for long distance travel of 600 miles each way with family, its ZCP, Wil it become uncomfortable for passengers for doing 600 miles a day ?
Thoughts

You will get varying responses. There are some other threads around...
My wife and I and 2 dogs drove from South Florida to Asheville, NC in my non-comp M4 a couple of years ago (around 750 miles). We always drive the entire distance in one day. Personally, the ride and noise got old and got really old to my wife, but was a fun car to have when we were there. Dogs didn’t seem to care. It was tolerable but not nearly as comfortable as my wife’s SUV we’ve made the trip in a few times. As long as you have realistic expectations it will be ok. But don’t expect a luxurious, comfortable ride on long trips.

I hear you, have driven 350 miles each way in my non ZCP M and was good , ofcourse I loved driving it but it was ok for family and they didn't complain much, wondering if 600 would be a stretch

I'd say it's fine, just did a trip of similar distance. If you have the adaptive suspension, setting it to comfort and the exhaust to efficient makes the car a very easy highway cruiser.

Most I've done in a day is a cross country dash through Germany/Netherlands/Belgium/France to the UK around 590 miles it was fine wasn't uncomfortable the seats are very supportive but of course it's not a 7er so expect to feel the bumps a bit.

I am not a great passenger in any car myself, but I'm pretty sure I would be more unhappy in the passenger or back seat of an F80/F82 over 600 miles than a luxury sedan or SUV.

I find the F8X chassis very comfortable for long rides. I've done a few long distance road trips. All of which were round trip. Only complaint ( if you want to call it that) is the high-RPM at highway cruising speeds. Would be great if there was an extra (OD) gear that dropped RPM's another 500-800 RPM's, but this is a performance vehicle, not a gran tourer.
Euro-Delivery Munich > Frankfurt> Nürburgring > Stuttgart > Munich Miles : 952 Pacific Northwest Portland > Seattle > Portland Miles : 500 Pacific Coast Hwy Portland > San Francisco > Los Angeles > Portland Florida Tampa > A1A > Miami > Tampa Miles : 1200 I say just throw that thing in full comfort mode, set the cruise control and enjoy the ride!

I did 1.1k (euro delivery) and 2.3k miles (pcd redelivery) in a 15 with passive suspension and 18s. Car was fine
AC had an issue with lines freezing due to high heat and humidity. Resolved by using manual setting 72F instead of auto setting, after the lines thawed. Car was amazing otherwise. Very comfy and in my opinion similar to f30 335 with passive sport suspension and stock RFT 19s. |

Drove my 2015 M4 to Orlando from Massachusetts a couple of Octobers ago, was great and I got about 28 mpg 75-80 mph, I guess this is my economy car, can't get close with my JB4 equipped 2008 N54 135i or my 2017 M2 PE, Hex stage 2 flash.

I've done 300+ mile trips on consecutive days, and it was very comfortable. However, I doubt that anyone in the rear seats would agree.
Non ZCP, EDC switched between Sport and Comfort depending on surface. Cheers

It's 650 miles from Lansing, MI. to Knoxville, TN. I go down there twice a year to play in the Smokies. (just the two of us in my M4) Do it in one day, no problems. Suspension on comfort and I'm 71!

My 'winter' setup is 513M rims with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires (R18) mounted--they are on the car now. I also have DCT and Adaptive.
Yesterday I drove my daughter and a friend from Portland to Seattle (and back again) for 'accepted students day', averaging 75-85 mph most of the way, through pretty heavy rain and over multiple terrible sections of the I5. About 175 miles each way. They sat in the backseat. Just before arriving back to Portland I asked them how the trip had been. They had no complaints, said it had been very comfortable. I had no complaints from the pilot's seat. Certainly you get plenty of road noise, can feel the bumps, but comfort mode and good A/S tires make it a great touring car. 600 miles? who can say.. |

Long trips are absolute garbage in the M. Seats too hard after 3 hours, too much road drone..
Did it once, never again. Fine for short trips less than 3 hrs. I guess if I broke it up with long breaks it would be more acceptable.... |

Hey,
My son and I did a "ZCP" (F83) Cross Country over a Week and a half. Not uncomfortable at all, considering 3200 Miles! It's a Sports Sedan/Coupe not a "Maybach". Cheers! |

IMHO- high performance cars will always be less comfortable for the passengers.. if only for the reason that the driver is truly steeling all the fun; regardless of how long the trip is.

My girlfriend and me took a 13 day trip from southern Germany to Norway in my 2018 F82 ZCP. Almost 3.000 miles in total with a 850 mile non-stop drive homewards.
We changed drivers every 4 hours without any significant stop (but refuelling ) but neither her nor me complained in any way! In comfort suspension settings this car is astonishing comfy for a sports car in my opinion. Got the full leather zcp seats by the way. So in my opinion the F8x ZCP is capable for any longer ride, so thinks my girlfriend. And I think she's a little more sensitive than me

Drove 485 miles after picking up my last M3 from the Performance Center (non-ZCP with adaptive). Felt very comfortable and never felt the noise or bumps were an issue at all. But I was on an emotional high from picking up the car so please ignore this blatantly biased reply.

Great feedback but i assume since the CP suspension is firmer than non-CP it is bit uncomfortable for back seat passengers, its a heaven for drivers
