KW HAS vs. BMW M-Performance HAS ?

Can anyone tell me the difference between the two height adjusted spring set-ups including ride quality? I've gone through the BMW M-Performance HAS thread and haven't seen anyone mention the difference between the two except owners with the M-performan HAS gets their suspension coded at the dealership after installing the springs.

The car isn't coded for the springs, it's updated to the latest I-step software.

Overall, I'm super happy with the M-performance HAS.

I think that I-step has the latest EDC coding which everyone is saying mad a big difference after getting the drop.

I can tell you some differences and similarities in the kits but not the ride quality.

- KW came out first
- KW is cheaper
- KW has a greater range of drop
- Both are adjustable
- The adjustment sleeves sit in the same location for both kits (front is at the bottom and rear is at the top)
- The front adjustment perch or nut on the KW has a greater diameter which has a greater chance at rubbing some tire set ups
- Vendors like EAS have provided updated coding during the install for KW the same as the M performance gets
- The M performance HAS was engineered for use with the electronic dampening controls system
- The M performance HAS comes with the warranty peace of mind but getting a KW HAS can not void the whole car warranty in the USA but anything suspension related will likely not be covered by warranty

It has updated damper settings that came out around update 58.x I believe. I'm fairly confident it doesn't have anything to do with ZCP EDC settings though as those dampers are different.

That make sense. I'll edit that part out but I was under the impression that a stiffer suspension and other small changes were on the ZCP that warranted different coding.

Keep in mind that the newer version of the KW HAS has been redesigned to reflect the M-Performance HAS design. The front perches are essentially the same as the M-Perf version. I'm not sure if the spring rates are the same, but it's safe to say that the newer KW HAS is much more developed than the original KW HAS.

Thanks to BMW for forcing KW to step up their game.

That newer version of KW perch looks exactly like the MP HAS but with purple instead of blue

I haven't purchased it; I'm on coilovers. Justin from Auto Talent (huge KW dealer) dropped the info on the updated HAS kit. You should drop him a PM.
