Kief's Winter Setup: Apex ARC-8 w/Blizzak LM-32
Finally had my winter rubber and sensors mounted to my Apex wheels at my BMW dealer (brought everything there in our X5) and then I swapped them out myself in my garage. Specs:
Apex ARC-8 Anthracite 19x9.5 et 22 w/255/35/19 Blizzak LM-32. I love for my wheels to have a deep concavity, and I was questioning the ARCs, but they look very good in person (hard to capture the depth in pics). I debated going with the PS-7, but they reminded me too much of my previous M4's VMR 710 winter setup here, and I wanted a change: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...ht=kief+winter I was very surprised to see how crappy looking my rear hubs looked for a 2017 M3 (production August 2016) with 669 miles on the clock. I had to clean off surprising amounts of crude (fronts were fine). Don't recall my M4 ever looking like that.

Thanks guys
Funny thing about this Thread, is that I've had more people comment/PM me about my garage than the winter setup My garage floor is Pearl Silver SwissTrax Ribtrax: http://www.swisstrax.com/ribtrax-garage-flooring/ It is all the same tile, but gives the optical illusion of a checkerboard pattern due to the face design of the title. The cabinetry is some relatively inexpensive online Home Depot system that I took a chance on. However, I have to say I've been impressed with the product and it has been holding up very well these past few years. Comes all assembled and was easy to install on the walls. http://www.homedepot.com/p/NewAge-Pr...0102/206827773 Pics of the transformation of my garage can be found here (Post #319): http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...garage&page=15

At first I used one of those scotch brite sponges (dampened w/water). But that wasn't quite enough, so I took some fine sand paper and lightly rubbed off the gunk. Dried it off and then applied a thin layer of anti-seize on the hub ring spokes

Arc 8 def look better than the 666s and their machined face. Any noticeable weight penalty between the front 666s and the Arc 8s?

The 666 machine face is definitely polished, but I think pics make it appear shinier (which seems to be what most of us do not like--shiny/chrome-like wheels, including myself). But in person, the 666s look very good IMHO. However, the 20" satans are obviously heavier. Front wheel alone is 25.35lbs. My 19" ARC-8s are 20.95lbs each (1lb less than a front 437M: 21.9lbs)

That gunk looks like factory applied cosmoline. Yellow wax like protective coating.
The snow wheels look great. |

I don't think it was cosmoline. Rear hubs were already rusted-up bad

Hi Kief, I'm new here and just placed an order for a 2017 M3 as well, and it's still winter time here (ETD suppose to be the first week of march).
Just to confirm, you have the same wheel/tire setup on all 4 corner ? Not staggered ? Tirewise, just because traction might be an issue here (we already have 4 feet of snow), I might go for Nokian Hakkapellita 8 with stud.....
