Waiting game is a killer F80 M3

Hey guys,

First post on here,

I'm Hass from Sydney, I waiting on the arrival of my f80 M3 apline white with sakhir orange trim.

Car docked on the 9th of January so I'm hoping to see the car on the 20th (which was what I've been told) am I dreaming?

So just a few questions I wanted to know.

How important Is this 2,000km run in period?

Who in Sydney is the person to talk to about tuning it?

I'm super excited to get the car, I've never owned a euro car been a Jap man all the way!

Congratulations on your purchase! You are in for a treat. The first service is extremely important, don't miss it. You will void your warranty if you do. In terms of good tuners, this may depend on where you live in Sydney but I highly recommend the team at City Performance centre in Artarmon. They have worked on all my cars including my M4 which I purchased 4 months ago.

Hi mate,

My car arrived on the 4th, and is ready for pickup this Monday (16th), so 12 days... I don't think the 20th is unrealistic.

Can't speak for the run-in period - but the last 5 cars I've bought - have all seen redline within 30 minutes of leaving the dealership.

The main thing is don't use cruise control/constant RPM until after you've done 1000kms... Constant load is the worst thing for a new motor.

Thanks mate. I literally can't wait for the call to say it's ready to be picked up. Ok I'll hit up city performance. What mods are done to the m4

Oh congrats on your purchase. What did you get? I'm really looking forward to the call this week hopefully telling me it'll be ready Friday.

Oh nice I didn't think I'd be able to run it without going over 4,000rpm loll

Akrapovic evolution, KW, Spacers, AWE intake. Engine and transmission Tune will be next. Which dealer did you purchase the beast from?

The manual tells you what you can do during run in. it's not that hard to follow. Personally I don't listen to forum experts.

F45m3 - Picked it up from Melbourne BMW.

Heh - have you confirmed it's cleared shipping yet? There's a site which can track it if you enter your VIN under Cargo ID (Shipping Tracker). If it's listed as "released from" then you'll know it's on the way to the dealer.

brownb_2 - Yep - exactly

Mine was ordered late August - so just under 5 months but got the first shipment of the FY17 year, so car is registered as a '17 complied/registered.
