Looking at used 2015

I'm looking at a used 2015 M3 - MG/Silverstone interior with 6MT, Exec package, rear sunshade, Xenons, 18" factory wheels and 11,337 miles. It's at a Maserati dealer for $58,495. I've asked for the Carfax and the maintenance records.

KBB says this is the high end of the spectrum for the price and Edmunds is saying dealer retail is $52,266. Should I just find a CPO car instead?

Any advice to give me?

I haven't been following used F8X prices, but that seems high to me. It has the must-have (for me) MT, and since these are more rare than DCT on the used market, the dealer may be looking for a premium. With the base price of a new M3 at $66K, a new car makes more sense to me at that price point. However, I understand that you may be caught in the window before the 2018s are able to be ordered (have't been following that too closely either). If so, I'd offer $52K and see what happens. On the other hand, if you are planning on keeping the car for > 4 years, CPO will probably pay for itself.

Thanks for the response! I will probably end up passing on this car as upon closer look of the images, there's some damage to the driver side bumper and the plastic "fins" under the front bumper look torn.

If you are open to White I have a 16 DCT car that's been very well taken care of. Only reason I'm getting rid of it is I want a Convertible Z06.

Way too expensive, you might as well buy new for only 10k more. MSRP was probably around 67k, so I would shoot for very low 50k if not 49k. 52k sounds reasonable considering the mileage.

I have seen your car in the for sale/lease section and it is gorgeous! I just can't do DCT.

Agreed. I may just end up waiting to see if I can build a 2018.

Gotcha and completely understand. I love the DCT but will be going manual in the Z. I know I won't be happy with an auto after having the DCT.
