I got/get 10x the attention in my bone stock SO M4 ZCP as I did in my MG M3.... Now after adding aftermarket wheels the attention is insane. More than I even want.

I would say my M3 was pretty updated like yours tho.

Yeah, in many cases color will trump mods. It was interesting for me to see the difference in the type of attention my YMB coupe received versus my current Nardo Grey coupe. They were both modded equally (...I basically swapped mods from one car to the next), but my Nardo coupe gets a different type of reaction. Yas was often called "beautiful", "gorgeous", "pretty", etc..........while Nardo is often referred to as "badass", "dope", "sick", etc.

Hoped, that BMW would bring out Donington Grey for the F8x! To me also much better color than SSII which is much too blueish for my taste...
Definitely. The $5200 cost was a huge turn off, but damn did it look great. I don't mind the extra wait time, though.

Donington Grey looks like a lighter version of Space Grey.

I went MG/SOafter seeing the combo in person. Very aggressive, mean, and sporty looking.

I immediately ruled out SS just before seeing MG. The first thing I thought was it is too soft for a badass car, immediately followed by I hate that it looks blue.

With that being said it is all subjective so buy whatever you like best of course. Just be sure to view both in person before buying. I drove for hours to see MG/SO. So glad I did.

His tires had a 1 PSI difference, causing him to lose control and spin out.

Never gets old

modkrazy , this is the greatest M4 oopsey every documented, and possible the greatest M4 forum thread ever. Basically, dude left a cars-n-coffee, applied a tad too much throttle trying to do a burnout and instantly lost it. In the thread he initially blamed it on tire PSI which is just a different way of saying, "but my ego won't let me admit I was a complete dumbfuck"

And we've all been there - if you haven't you're not pushing your car and probably shouldn't have one ... the difference in this case was simply that it was documented.

More broadly, it's the very definition of why driving around public roads in a high horsepower car with traction control off is a VERY bad idea. Personally I never do that with the F8x, and usually don't even use MDM (as opposed to my E9x which I either had it off or on MDM at a minimum).

For me this car is too jekyll-and-hyde: it goes from boring to in a microsecond if you have traction control off - controlling it at the line is pretty tough and I'm not near a good enough driver to walk that line without some serious nannies to protect me from a spin out or worse.

I loosen that up on circuits I know, with surfaces I've just driven, but in this car if I'm not 100% sure about the road and the surface, then traction control stays on.

I was in the same camp. Originally wanted MG and then saw one in the neighborhood. It got lost amongst all the other grey cars. Silver stone looks great with the blue tint and has nice contrast to the cf bits. I ended up getting a great price for a ymb and have not regretted it since. Comes down to how much attention you want and if you want to blend in. My choice between the two would be silverstone

Bolded for key element I was missing. I vaguely remember this episode as I was active on the E9x forums at the time, but couldn't recall the details.

MG - every single car on the road near me is silver, black, or white. A nice a silver as SSII is, to 99% of people out there, myself included, its just another silver car.

That's what pushed me to SSII vs. MG. SSII also shows lines a little better. No wrong choice.

What type of damage could a car experience, hitting a curb like that? I know it's bad for multiple components (Springs, Shocks, Bending rims, connection joints). Anything else, besides those? I'm still learning about all the working/moving parts of cars.

could be anything, but categories you didn't mention are tires, body panels and cosmetics. Not to mention human body parts.

That accident threw off a bunch of shit you can see flying around and hanging.

Here's a slo-mo.

paint looks beautiful; the sun really catches the lines as the ass launches 5 feet off the ground.

front brakes do a great job too.

I always loved how the drivers side tailpipe lets out a puff of smoke at the end. As though it just lit a cigarette after the BSDM it just experienced...
