Current E92 M3 Coupe owners with sunroof

Has not been confirmed yet, but there may not be a sunroof option for the M4 as most of the mules running around have the double-bubble CF roof. As much as I love the look of a CF Roof, I love and use my sunroof daily. I've driven M3's with sunroofs and others with CF roofs and I can't tell a darn difference in performance. Should the M4 not have a sunroof option, would this hinder your decision or would you try to cope with not having it?

I'm hoping BMW offers one as an option as they did with the E92.

We previously spotted an M4 prototype without the CF roof and what appears to be a moonroof (at least one of the photos shows the edge of what looks like a moonroof).

Thanks Jason. Do me a favor and when you're at Pebble Beach for the concept unveil, try and take a picture of the roof for me so I can see if there's a sunroof or not

Of course, we'll have plenty of photos of all angles and views of the car

I have an E90 with sunroof. I absolutely love having it and as you I use it daily weather permitting. I don't like verts but love a sunroof. That said, with the F80 being weight focused it will be hard to pass on the CF roof. I might go full out and order the CRT seats and make it a manual as well to take full advantage of the weight savings. Or maybe I'll just get the seats they should cancel out most weight gains from the roof and the DCT even if the weight distribution will be a bit less optimal with the roof being the highest point.

Oh, the pain we poor souls who buy these cars need to suffer...

I think the concept car will almost surely get the CF roof like the E92 M3 concept did. But we may get confirmation of the sunroof option in conjunction with the reveal of the car anyway.

The M4 Concept will be a driveable Concept but it won't be a car you can sit in.
In the space between Pebble Beach and the IAA the car will be flown to China and other parts of Asia.

The concept will have the CFRP roof.
Outside of North America I have never seen an M3 with a sunroof as most buyers go for the gravity lowering CFRP roof. Sadly M4 will again be offered this but with the M6 Coupe and M6 Gran Coupe they fought against an optional sunroof, it remains to be seen if the 4er Gran Coupe will offer the same.

I use mine every chance I get...windows down, sunroof open is a great motoring experience. Honestly, that's one reason why I've never really looked at an M6. I'm not a big fan of four place convertibles, so having the sunroof for me is perfect. I'm willing to trade a tenth of a second for the pleasure of a sunroof. Don't really know what I'd do if they didn't offer a sunroof...hopefully it will not come to that.

I never quite understood why the M6GC didnt have a panoramic sunroof. If you think about it, it makes sense. A well lit, open cabin during the day, and frankly I doubt any M6GC drivers will need or notice a CF roof.

I am also a fan of a sunroof and have one on my 2011 E92 M3 and use it regularly. BUT...I would probably go with the CF version this time since I am leaning towards a white car. The cf with white will look fantastic.

I have a Alpine White 12' E92 M3 with sunroof and it looks just as good as one with CF roof. Can't go wrong with either in terms of looks.

+1

Love the sunroof more than the CF roof. Every vehicle I ever bought had a sunroof. And I can't imagine not having one since I'm not a convertible guy.

My '93 RX-7 had a double bubble roof and a sunroof. In that case, the panel went up and outside the car body when open.

The M4 will have a sunroof option. Whether they swap out a different roof panel without the double bubble, use a curved glass piece, or a solution line the RX-7 did remains to be seen.
