I really wished bmw would have gone the supercharger route like Audi did with their tfsi supercharged v6. It's has the responsiveness, feel, and sound of a naturally aspirated engine while also giving good mpg. I have never liked the lag and feel of a turbocharged car. I really hope this new s55 twin turbo surprises me because I love everything else about the new f8x.

I have to firmly disagree with you having read the reviews. They are indeed positive and none say it's numb or lacks feel. At worse they say In sport mode it's perfect. Please quote where you think it's negative? :

Car & Driver and MotorTrend mentioned it. If you go back you will see it. My take is that the new M3/4 are going to be easier cars to live with on a daily basis. Losing the exciting high strung engine and instant throttle response is made up for by torque.
Good reviews overall but the skepticism remains unfortunately. Now a real head to head battle at the track needs to happen!

LOL..clearly the most biased of the reviews. The others are more balanced, but overall conclusion is that BMW did a pretty damn good job. Keeping my E90 for a long time, nonetheless.

Black seems to be the color to go. The rear fenders look more pronounced. And it gives it a svelte look to the car. The car looks awkwardly long in other colors, just odd. The M3 looks good in any color, Yas Marina Blue, etc.

Great write up. Road&Track talked about the Active Sound. Why can't there be a delete for this feature? Is BMW that insecure of it's engine sound? Why is this forced onto the consumer? If they can offer options on how to set up the car, why not on the Active Sound feature?

I'm very pleased to have read the reviews today, but now I'm stuck with 2 dilemma's: Transmission & Color. I'm not seeing rave reviews for the M-DCT transmission!! Too harsh in sports plus? Not integrated well in the car. And the Austin Yellow looks more gold/mustard than ever before in natural daylight!

Wondering whether to switch my order to 6 speed manual & mineral white or mineral grey!

how much bhp does your dinan 550i have?
Never dyno'd her but Dinan claims Stage 2 has "Peak Horsepower 501 HP @ 5000 RPM and Peak Torque 580 FT-LBS @ 3500 RPM." She's heavy but fast and sometimes feel like a hippo on ice skates going down hill.

Looking to get into the
M3 (or M4) this fall -- can't wait.

Does the Euro spec front bumper have body color reflectors, or is it a completely different bumper with no reflectors at all?

For some reason, outdoor pics on ymb doesn't look that great.
This includes pics from mototrend and etc.
Maybe camera flash is messing up with the color, but in these pics, ay looks better than ymb and. Bsm beats both ay and ymb.
