BMW is preparing to upmarket m3/4 into another price level. Leaving the m2 doing what the m3 has been doing for decades. M2 will start at 60k within few short years.
Either way this pricing is horrible as it is. People who really know their stuff with 100-130k to spend on a car has a clear choice now. These people should thank BMW for making that choice easier for them |

In fact if you use the GTS as a gauge for the future M3/4 CS market it isn't good. I'm guessing a year after their release you will be able to find low mileage cars in the 80s and maybe less. Maybe it will reverse and they will gain their value back, but I'm not sure there are a lot of people willing to sit on a car for 10, 20 or 30 years. There are far better investments and easier ways to make money. Resale and overall value do not compute with these cars anymore. It just comes down to if you really like them then get it. At least the M3/4 CS are gorgeous cars (the best looking so far in the lineup) compared to the not so much GTS IMO. |

It must be nice to live in the parallel universe of a Porsche fanboy... where it's unacceptable for an m240i to not come with a LSD, but no mention of the base 911 which doesn't have one either |

It’s not just bmw go to mb.
I recently got lease numbers for a GLC43 AMG low option for my mom 67k and it was close to 1000 a month close to min drive off (2,500), 36 months 10k miles. I can get a 48k GLC300 in the 500 a month range, the poser amg is stupid expensive.

We can agree/disagree with pricing and justifiability ... rest assured, all will be spoken for in the US at sticker or above.
If you don't need or desire rear seats ...the M4 GTS does seem like a good buy |

Not to get too off track, but I'll never understand people who go on and on about how awesome the C63 AMG interior is. I sat in one when they dropped at the LA auto show... it was the chintziest, most plasticky dog sht for a $90K car interior I've seen consistent with everything MB has released below the S-class as of late.
That gauge cluster looks to be straight off an A-class taxi. The silver carbon junk won't age well. Look at any 5-year old Benz. Junk. BMW... Much better state. as for the 911 comparo... I can find a lightly used manual shift 991.1 GTS from an enthusiast seller at around $115K all day. that is way more car than any F8X. way more. |

They trick your eyes with the center overlay wood and air vents. Go to the surfaces on the side and look at the back seat areas and it is shit hard plastic. Fooled a lot of people.

Yup, you've got to step up to the S for the LSD. It is really incredible.
You can barely buy a base, amish edition 911 for the price of the CS. |

That is the problem I see with BMW's pricing with the CS and GTSs. If you can afford 100k plus you can afford the extra to get a better car. The M3CS is a bit unique because of the 4 door aspect, but it is still over priced. BMW is banking on their loyal fan base and gouging the s$%! out of them. It makes me wonder how long and how much of a loyal fan base will be left after a while. Last edited by minn19; 11-30-2017 at 01:22 PM.. |

Yet, here BMW is presenting the M3 CS and asking people to get excited about it's $100k price tag. Ok, well, if you are excited about this car at that price, then you should be through-the-roof ecstatic that you can get a standard M3 with - you guessed it - about 95% of the performance for 2/3 the price. Even better - you can order one today. And furthermore, instead of facing dealer markup, you can negotiate a discount. Quote:
