Does it make a night and day difference? No. But every little bit helps.

8kg comes from the 763M wheels alone, so you have a point regarding the wheels .

I am not getting the M4CS for the weight reduction alone. I would have actually preferred a bit more amenities, such as full leather doors, HK sound and comfort access even it means a little more weight. But I am getting the CS for total package. For us here in Canada, the premium from a decently appointed CP to the CS is not that big (about $12k USD), so it is worth it to me for the improved suspension, added power and torque, CF hood and CF aero bits while maintaining a full factory warranty.

That makes sense and I actually edited my post to focus on the 123mph trap speed

It's nice that you can switch over the camber plates and track wheels from your current car to round out the CS further

I'd be interested to get your take on the cup2 vs nt01 at some point from your current car and upcoming CS.

Please explain to me how the M3CS can shed more weight off the base M3 compared to the M4CS when the M3CS has less weight reduction features than the M4CS does?

In the interview with the BMW AG M3/4 product manager, he admitted that the M3 CS weighs about the same as a base M3, which makes more sense.

And BTW, a CP M3 weighs more than a base M3, mostly because of those stupid heavy 666M wheels.

Holy fook,
Your a happy bugger. You should of highlighted "supposed" in my post

Just as well I specced CCBs then.

Is the mid range pull BS as well?

No, the increased power is real and significant. Hence why I made this very thread. A 122~123mph ¼ mile trap is nothing to scuff at.

It is not only a question of mid range pull, the CS has much more area under the curve compared to the CP in the top end power band as well and it translates to real world acceleration improvements. Have a look at this thread:

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1376759

That claimed 110lb "weight reduction" for the M3CS though...

Yes, that was a good read.

The CP in UK was retuned to help with traction issues which you can see in the graph from Evolve, the 2016 sw was running the original software, all are now running the updated software.

I don't take a lot of notice that gets put out in "flyers" but the one below quite clearly states a big weight loss, maybe that was before they seem to of changed the lightweight titanium exhaust system that they have also advertised in the U.K. as a standard spec on the CS UK spec sheet.

Incidentally, I done 7 runs at a drag last year in my M6 CP 600hp, the best I done was 12.24 at 123
That CS is flying

I think the “titanium exhaust” is a communication fluke. All the CS spotted thus far, even starting with the early mules, have had the standard SS exhaust. As a tidbit, Titanium MPE/GTS exhaust is quoted to shed about 8kg off the standard exhaust.

As for the 110lb “weight savings”, it all depends what baseline they use, and that’s where it gets shady.

Yeah that's a great trap speed, it tells me I shouldn't race it with my M5 until after 130mph lol.
