They make so many because the market is there. Only 300 units means this car will be worth a fortune. BMW is one of only a few automakers that can do this.
they waste the money. thats all.

Look to the 8er and CSL Hommage for inspiration.
The new style also shows the hardtop is not just being discontinued for weight issues only. But also aesthetic value. The hardtop would not work with the design.

I'll counter that the current gen 'verts actually look pretty good with the top down. The previous model i would say did not. Top up they do look odd.
They actually look great top down.

Stop with those "special edition"? Putting some M parts and individual color doesn't make it special LMAO. Make it wider body or bigger turbo then you can call it special

Not really a fan

Really not into the 4 series I think the old e92/3 still look so much better top up or down. These ones just don't catch my eye the same way. Plus five years later the roof is still the same from the e93.

I need a history lesson

I thought, in Europe, the M3 was an '86/'87 model?

It came to NA in '87 as an '88. When I was a kid, I received Auto Motor Und Sport Mags. I have a bunch from that era and the M3 is featured often.

So...is this a 40 Jahre NA "Legacy" edition?

Were all of the Europe sold M3's still 1988"s?

TIA

ps To me, this Mandarin looks like a cross between Atacama and that Papaya colored M4 that sat on the lot in Tucson years ago. I like the Mandarin.

I personally find the E9X to be the worst looking out of the entire line-up. Slab-sided. Narrow. Odd proportions.

F8X the best of all-time. Esp the coupe/m4.

Is it coming to US? It seems like none of US dealers even heard about this car at all.
