I don't get it either. A great track car turned into a drag car. You can do the same with a Honda for half the price. What is impressive?

Some of us find drag racing/roll racing much more interesting and exciting than driving in circles around a track. I've done both and truly prefer it. I guess I grew up on too many old street racing movies.

Wouldn't want to drive a Honda. F8X cars are beautiful daily drivers and only more fun when made wicked fast for the street as well as the strip.

I enjoy drag racing and track driving alike. They both have skills that are required to become good at them.

Drag takes pedal skill and knowing the power band of the car. While also knowing optimum shift times.

Tracking requires knowing how the car responds to all sorts of input (g'forces, braking power, exiting power, suspension travel/roll)

Both require skill, and nobody can say otherwise. Sure a fast car will run an overall faster time, but (in dragging for example) there are fast cars that just sit at the starting line because the driver just mashes the gas pedal and hopes for the best.
