Evolution Racewerks/Downpipes Without A Tune?

I recently purchased Evolution Racewerks catless downpipes and will be getting them installed without a tune. Please feel free to give me your experience with Evolution Racewerks as a company and any risks associated with going catless besides a check engine light.

Fitment of ER downpipes is really good. I’ve had VRSF, ARM, ER, and akras. All sound the same.

No noticeable gains will be there. Only HP and torque gains when tuned.

Just loudness and might smell bit worse than usual with a CEL.

There’s no downsides to a catless downpipe without a tune. I’d highly recommend a stage 2 off the shelf tune.

I have no experience with ER or any other DP manufacturer. Are you deleting the cats on DPs for increased exhaust volume (at the expense of rasp/drone)? Downsides are CEL, exhaust smell and exhaust sound. What mid-pipe and axle-back do you plan on running with catless DPs? BM3, Cary Jordan and Epic, to name a few, all offer stage 2 tunes with the use of stock cats so you don’t need catless DPs to achieve > 525/550 whp/torque.

I am deleting the cats solely for sound. I currently have a AA single midpipe connected to the stock cs/zcp muffler. In all honesty I actually love the S55 “rasp”. I do not want to tune the car untill I do the crankhub fix and in all honesty don’t have an appitite for more power. I am more than happy with the stock CS tune. I love everything from the throttle mapping to the stock burbles and have no intention on tuning the car.

Personally i would not remove the stock downpipes just for the sound. There is too many drawbacks for me with bad "fishing boat" sound, smell, emissions and almost no power gains and codes. I would do a modification to the rear silencer in some way. Sounds much better too in my opinion and is easier.

+1 on removing the cats just for sound.

You will gain 10-15 wheel hp and 15-20wheel torque.
Between 3-5000 rpm. Basically Mid range. You will definitely feel the slight power gain. Better spool, crazy turbo sound. These are the positives.

Negative is the rasp and smell. If you have proper gasket and installed correctly shouldn’t be too bad but smell is unavoidable.

I also have a M4CS and I feel the oem cs tune is great. But still want and need more. That’s where stage 2 tune or Bigger turbos come in.

I will confirm that catless DP's stink. I have no experience with their DP's but the ER J pipe I bought was a nice piece.
