Introduction

The European delivery was my first time outside of America travel ever since I immigrated to America from Korea 18 years ago. So I was very excited, yet the it was meaningful in every way.

So the whole idea of taking a delivery of my car in the Welt soon arose after my first 2015 M4 was involved in a rear end accident while it was being serviced (1200 mile) at a local BMW dealership. Not only they left significant signs of accident on a brand-new M4, they also tried to hide the incident by starting a repair without disclosing the fact to me. Luckily, I had a recording device in the car and everything revealed in the videoclip. A long story short, I filed a law suit against the dealership. I came to the settlement and they bought the car back.

Cars I had/have

I had E92 M3 which I originally got to daily drive to work and school to keep my very rare 1 out of 90 Grand Prix White S2000 CR in the garage. I had regretted so much for getting DCT as I always have been manual guy.


I sold the E92 for an EM1 Civic si

it is currently stored away at my parents home in Fresno with 12xxx miles.





this was my first M4 I got this shortly after I sold EM1 Civic Si as I didn’t want to put miles on my S2000 CR.



As soon as I knew i wanted another M4, I contacted Khoi Diep from Long Beach BMW as I got my first M4 from him for an awesome price. I was informed by Khoi that the european delivery price will increase from 2016. this was my decision making point. I have always wanted to do ED and wanted to do it before the price increase

my build is as following

I submitted my order back in september and received the production # right away. as I was still attending graduate school and working full time. going on the trip soon was not my option. at least not during my school time. having educational obiligation naturally pushed my tour time to December when the semester ended





I was scheduled for delivery on 12/18 and left the states on 12/16





Munich, Germany

As soon as I arrived i was greeted by SIXT driver. She was kindly drove her 535 GT xDrive to other terminal to pick up my girlfriend who flew there from Korea.

We started to discover Munch after we lodged our luggage at the hotel.
we stayed at Excelsior hotel near Marienplatz for 2 nights

after we valeted my car, we walked to the museum across the street





I am sure you have seen tons of museum pictures so I will not post more

we drove the car back to the hotel and started to further discover what Munich had to offer. Luckily, it was christmas season and the christmas market was all over in Marienplatz








Bolzano, Italy

this town is located exactly between Venice and Munich. a perfect city to stop and lodge on the way to Venice. not only it is geographically beneficial for my plan to Venice. Bolzano was also one of the most famous city for having the biggest Christmas Market.

I stayed in this little hotel called “Ideal Park”. this was indeed one of my favorite hotels I stayed because they have underground sauna with heated pool.



Me and my gf arrived there around 11pm. it was perfect place to relax and heal as we were pretty fatigue from the jet lag and the driving.

they also had a big underground parking



another reason why I liked this hotel is because they offered free breakfast that was absolutely amazing. the best eggs( local supply with feathers lol) I have ever had in my life as well as other traditional Italian breakfast. Additionally, the cappuccino was absolutely amazing!!









After we filled ourselves with breakfast, we headed to the downtown of Bolzano to discover the christmas market.

















kids get free toilet access but you gotta be certain height or less!



Venice, Italy

the idea of going to Venice was never in my plan, however, my gf really wanted to visit here. I gave her an option of visiting Venice or Paris. She chose the Venice and here we came.

the Venice was absolutely fantastic. it was the city that I could never have imagined.
everyone was concerned about parking in Venice but at the entrance they have several parking structures that you can park and take the bus (boat) to get to your destination. You could take the taxi for higher fare (boat)



























We decided to go to Salzburg for our next destination leaving Venice

You all know what I am going to post here. Maribell Garden and Mozart House
literally, these are the only two places to go here.

Munich, Germany

my original drop off destination was Frankfurt on 28th, However, starting a new job pushed all my schedule forward, Thanks to holiday closure from 24th to 27th. I had to drop off my car on 23rd to fly to Korea on 26th to spend a week there before flying back to the states.

We visited Dachau concentration camp. it was very sad to see how people suffered for no reason and died here. For this reason, I respect German who reserved these camps to remorse their dark side of the history.

if there was not one way flight to Korea from here, I would never have came here as my final destination. Pretty boring city.

my hometown, a very busy city

I have seen more super cars in Korea than I have in Los Angeles.















So many amenities in Inchon Airport in Korea that they make your overlay time so pleasant rather than boring and sleepy



my car was loaded on the vessel on 1/9, I can not wait to reunite with my M4
seeing almost complete set of M performance parts lying around in my room to be installed does not make the wait easy!!!!

Conclusion

I wish I could have started my work a little later than I did. that could have given me more flexible times to visit more cities in Europe perhaps Paris and Prague. In the end, I am glad that I was able to do this before the price increase. for those who have no obligation to physically be here, please go have your own ED experience. It is the priceless experience.

Congrats!!! I gave my GF same 2 options. She choose Paris so we ended our euro adventure in Paris and droped off my F82 in Paris!!

I did not rent snow tires for the whole trip as the weather was very warm The temperature occasionally dropped below the freezing point on my way to Bolzano from Munich

I was a bit concerned about crossing Austria border without snowtires but Austria was the warmest out of all the countries I visited

What does ED give you other than a lower price and opportunity to drive in Europe? Does Bmw give you free ticked or lodging? Thinking about it but my local dealer/salesman hasn't done one for a long time.

I honestly think most of us did it for the priceless memories

Yes the discount is nice and all but I can not really speak for the value of my memories That I obtained thru this experience
