TMIC Coolant Reservoir Level

I am growing concerned about a potential TMIC coolant leak on my M4, especially after noticing the coolant level in the TMIC reservoir being pretty low. It’s not empty by any means but definitely low.

I’ve never had to add coolant to it before. Car has 66k miles on it. Can someone confirm whether or not the level in my reservoir is low enough to indicate a leak? AFAIK there’s no reason the coolant should ever be exiting the system.

Apologies if this has been covered already but I didn’t see any posts with photos of the reservoir specifically.

The level should never change in the TMIC system, if it goes from max to min it is a good indication that you have a leak.

However, I will add my level dropped slightly once and ran the bleed procedure. I have not had an issue since.

No I think you should be okay. It would be empty if you had an issue. Like empty-empty. Permeation happens and it’s normal over time.

I would fill it to Max and just keep an eye on it. If it lowers, than you have your answer

But that doesn't always mean that the reservoir has an issue. It could be coolant hoses as well, so those would be to check also. I would trace all the hoses the run to the intercooler and it's heat exchanger, just to be sure.
