M3/M4 Steering Wheel vs. M Sport Steering Wheel

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
It appears that the steering wheel in the M3, M4, M5, etc has a thicker grip and possibly smaller overall diameter when compared to the "M Sport" steering wheel found in M Sport models such as the M235i.

Any comments on this?

Thanks.

I thought they were the same and the only difference was the color of the stitching, but I could be wrong.

Actually looking at them, it appears the M235i steering wheel is slightly thicker than the M3/4 but might just be due to the leather?
Can anyone confirm?
I actually tested the M235i just to see how it felt and it was a very nice handling/sounding car. Unfortunately it was about 10 degrees that day so I didn't really want to get on it hard as it was just delivered to the dealer and wasn't warmed up.

The first picture is the M3 second the M235i

In addition to the difference in thickness, the M logo on the bottom of the wheel is different.

On M sport models, its the M sticker. On real M cars the badge is enamel.

I had an F30 M Sport 335i, and the M logo on the steering wheel was not a sticker. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to say? If that's the case, I apologize in advance.

In my opinion, there is absolutely no difference in thickness between the two steering wheels. I drove the new M6 once and then hopped right back into my old F30.

The only differences I noticed between the two steering wheels are as follows:

1) The center spoke between the horn/airbag and the bottom of the steering wheel on the non-M Sport wheel is "empty" and 2) The non-M Sport steering wheel has the M-tricolor stitching.

Aside from that, the steering wheels felt/appeared identical to me.
