BMW dealer body shop in socal

My gf's one month old 2017 M4 got hit by other car on the driver side.
Because of the impact, car was pushed to the right side curb and scraped right side, too.
I was driving it and she was sitting in the passenger. Thanksfully nobody got any big injury and it's 100% other person's fault.
Anyway, the car is currently in body shop recommended by her insurance company. Estimate repair cost came out to be $18,000.

I noticed that some BMW dealer in socal has its own body shop. Would it be better to get it repaired on one of those shop? If so, which body shop do you recommend?

Wow man ur girlfriends going to be pissed with u when she sees her brand new ZCP has been hit from the side when u drove it!!!!!!

Jk... seriously if it's 18k worth of damage it should be totaled. The best I would do is take it to a certified BMW body shop..

start with your local dealership and see who they use/recommend...

there are a few great private ones most members will like to recommend (C & C collision in alhambra comes to mind first)....

sorry to read about the accident...glad no one was hurt....good luck with the repairs

There's two Certified BMW body shops in SoCal. I would not take it to the insurance recommended shop.
CCRC
New Century BMW ncbmwcollision.com Valleys
CCRC
Spectrum Collision spectrumcollision.com Orange Co

I m sorry to hear that, but glad to hear no one was in serious hurt.

I have brought my F30 to Mew Century Collision Repair Center when my wife hit the side curb and damaged the front right suspension. I was provided an loaner while the car was being repair. Top notch service!

Agreed with others that I don't recommend bring it to insurance recommends shops. Hope it will be taken care soon.

I have some contacts from New Century BMW Collision Center. If you go there, ask for David.

Spectrum Collision in Irvine is probably one of the best collision centers in the area.... I would HIGHLY recommend sending it there. Especially if insurance is covering the cost

im in the same situation, currently havent had an estimate yet but my damage looks worse. id prefer the car be considered a total loss but how is 18k from a 70-80k car a total loss?

I've been to Spectrum twice (unfortunately), and both times they did an impeccable job (fortunately!). They are Shelly BMW's official body shop. If you are closer to Shelly, they will tow it from Shelly for free.

I have also been to Johnny's Auto Body in North Hollywood. They are BMW enthusiasts and they do flawless work as well. They are Century West BMW's official body shop.

Any frame damage? likely there is frame damage. ask body shop to check, it has to be good body shop. Check with dealer which shop they recommend . It can get salvaged becouse there is frame damage. Its not that car cant be repaired or driven its the value...

Only one of those was my fault. Rubbed a curb with my fender. It sucks.

Do not take to Nick Alexander BMW Collision in dtla. I was quoted 25k when it first got there, they took over 2 months to repair, no loaner car, and they raised it to over 30k !! I hit a side walk when the car understeered but was able to turn enough to just slam the curb. Only damage was to my front bumper and wheels but the air bags did pop and some lady spoke to me immediately if I needed medical assistance lol. The Job was perfect but time is money and they really took there time for no reason, saying waiting for part from germany countless times and blaming my insurance for not writing the new estimate off. Horrible customer service, but body work was great but a lot of shops can do that so stay away from Brian the collision department manager.

Had minor 1/4 panel repair done before at Calibur Collision in silverlake and they were pretty fast still took two weeks but the work was flawless. was 2k estimate insurance covered both times.

Sold my car before trade in 6 months before due, no problems only took 5 minutes and no flags on my car either so cost doesn't mean totaled its more the frame itself.

Does anyone know a good bodyshop in LA or OC that is good but also fair pricing. Don't want to use insurance for my new car since rates are high plus the damage is relatively small! Thanks

Just had my rear bumper replaced at New Century. Very happy with their work and how fast they finished my car. Talk to Ed & David

New Century is one of the best in so cal for sure as they are bmw certified and will stand by their work. I would have chose them recently for my M but was worried about the tune so went with a non dealershop. How was the price for the work if you don't mind. People always scared when they hear bmw dealership but just for reference. Thx

New century collision on main st in Alhambra.
I was rear ended on the 60 fwy in my m4. Damages looked minor but the final repair was $4871.40. They made the insurance company replace the rear bumper and exhaust. They only use oem parts.
I have the vf tune. The shop did take it to the dealer afterwards to reset something because I had the windshield replaced at the same time my rear end was being fixed but I am not sure if my car was flagged
