Some pictures I took at the Houston Auto show. I'd prefer an all satin wheel similar to the satin on the new Porsche's.

I'm assuming the first pic shows the 475M in black? It looks stunning

Is the outer part of the top wheel silver or more of a gunmetal gray? That picture makes it look silver and is probably the lightest it has looked in all the pictures I have seen.

The wheel face of the top wheel (option code 2VZ, style 437 M "black") is not gunmetal gray but more of a black chrome. In bright light the shininess makes it look very much like silver whereas in low light it looks dark grayish.

These wheels look pretty good as they are, but one potential problem is you won't be able to easily plastidip them. It's very easy to plastidip the current ZCP wheels M3 has.

Black wheels

I have been told different things by different people...for those that have seen the wheels in person, is the outer part of the black wheels silver or black chrome? Black chrome and silver are obviously very different so I am not sure how I am getting different answers. Could there be two different versions?

Is anyone else bothered that the ///M logo is upside down relative to the BMW logo?

My understanding: Going from the grey/silver 19" wheels to the black/black-chrome 19" wheels is a cost upgrade in some countires. For example, in the UK, 19" grey wheels are standard and black 19" is a £175 option. In Belgium, 18" are standard, grey 19" are a €1885 option and black 19" are a €2085 option.

In Canada, the black 19" wheels are standard and the grey 19" ones are a no cost option.

Good observation. But if these wheels are like all the other BMW wheels I have owned, the center cap is removable and you can rotate it to any position you want. I guess they missed that when they put the car on display

Has there been any update on the actual color of the "Black" wheels yet?? That's my only confusion and last option to nail down.

The black wheels are the two-tone wheels you have been seeing from the auto shows. If you check out the configurators from the UK, Germany, etc. you'll see that this is the case.

That's where my uncertainty comes in. Some of the two toned wheels seem to be brushed grey on the spokes and black or dark grey on the rest of the wheel (Configurator Wheel). While other two toned wheels are polished on the spokes and black on the rest of the wheel (Show Car Wheels).

In my case, I'm hoping for the polished spokes and black.

All show car wheels (to the best of my knowledge) have been either the ferric grey or two-tone black wheels. The lighting is what is messing with the two-tone in some photos and making them look like the other style you described.

I bet the two-tone black wheels will look great during regular daylight conditions. After 2 days of driving and some brake dust, they'll lose all that shininess on the spokes as well. I ordered them for my AW M3.

Notice the wheels on the first production car. Hopefully, in my case these will be available to us here in the states.

ZCP wheels are great but I don't think there is a worse wheel in the world to clean. I might have my silvers powder coated or wait a couple months and buy myself some BBS or Volks for Christmas.
