Not a Happy Camper with a New Rear Diff

Well had the new rear diff put in today at BMW and no more left the lot and on the highway between 60 and 70 miles an hour I get a constant vibration in the steering wheel, can you can feel it in your butt ,,, its about half as much vibration as you get when the Lane keeping assist vibrates ... by the way turned off Lane keeping assist and it's not that doing it ..... going to have to take it back next week anybody's thoughts on this or had that happen to them?

I'm the exact opposite here. I had vibration before I got my new diff that is now gone. Definitely take it back.

Yah I think my cars got a bad diff, my vins not on the recall tho, what are the symptoms? My car fells like under acceleration I get a weird vibration in my steering wheel and at highway speeds seems like I feel like improper gear mesh?

Yes BMW, told me that the problem is the clutch slips some of the time ,, mine was a low rumble when it was cold.. but with the new diff,, it's a vibration when 60 and 70 mph...

I have a friend with an Individual Long Beach Blue M4 that was affected by the diff recall. Had it replaced, had problems, and is now on his fourth diff.

Was your car included in the recall? Also, what was your car's production date? Mine is April 28th but still not included in the recall.

If it wasn't on the list, how did you have them replace it?

Mine was on the recall list, diff was replaced at the performance center, no vibrations or issues other than having to replace all the subframe bolts now (new recall)

still haven't had my diff replaced. BMW called me, than told me they were waiting for a newer batch of diffs to replace my car. As of today, im still running on the recalled diff. I have almost 4000 miles on my car.

If the car isn't right bring it back. If you are really unhappy ask for a different (new) car. BMW corporate is great and will bend over backwards to make customers happy.

Had mine done 2 days ago. I didn't have any vibration before and after the replacement. Has 1400+ miles now. Have to bring it back after 1200 miles to finalize recall. Here's what they did.
