I know EU prices are generally higher than ours....

But at $92k USD (in Europe), I wonder just how much lower it will go. How much were the base e92's in the UK upon release?

If those figures are right I could very well be steered towards a used 997 Turbo.....I'll still have 2 back seats! (kind of)

EDIT: Nevermind, I read the posts above. Thanks for the info! $63k-range for the US would definitely be A-OK

Did anybody notice the 0 to 62mph of the M3/4 is now identical to their published time for the M6?

One thing people are forgetting is that a lot of countries have taxes based on displacement or fuel consumption.

Since the F8x features a smaller (3027cc vs 399xcc) engine, there could be some decreases in taxes.

Let say the E92's 54.7K GBP price tag includes tax of 2K GBP, and F82's 56.6K GBP includes only 1K GBP worth of tax money, then the price actually went up by 3K while it only looks like 2K.

Once the F82 gets to the US the price difference COULD be bigger than 2K GBP due to this, or foreign exchange reasons.

Again, I could be wrong since I don't really know what's included in BMW UK's listed price, but just a thought.

It doesn't work that way either. Most times a GBP$2,000 increase doesnt translate into a USD$3275 increase in US. It could also be a USD$2,000 increase in the US. But you are right, we should expect anything from $62k-$65k.
Yep I totally forgot to adjust for uk price inflation which is about 30% so that would equate to a roughly $2293 increase over US base for a more likely total of $ 64618 for base M4. I will endorse this figure to be very very close to actual price and many will be thrilled if in right!

Wishful thinking on my part
I think the GT3 needs to do this to break traction over the massive 325 width mpsc2 tires out back. M3 has always been easy to slide and spin the rear tires. i don't think i would ever attempt the drift mode in a 991 gt3 unless i had plenty of run off area. like parking lot of the san diego chargers. lol

does sound cool. still i would just spec the good old 3 pedal version.

WOOT! I'm stoked. I can't wait for the full reveal and U.S. specs (mainly PRICE!) but it seems that this will be very affordable in my book. I'm patiently waiting for the LCI M4 to replace my 435.

I was going to say this. 10k mi @ 19mpg isn't even 650 gallons to start with.

Actually 25% improvement on 19mpg is 23.75 mpg. On 10k miles, the savings is only 105 gallons.

Going with 25mpg combined the difference vs. 19mpg on 10k miles is 126 less gallons burned.

Prices vary and fluctuate, but we're talking a difference of <$500/yr. S65 mileage sucks, but when you do the math the difference isn't so dramatic.

I'd suggest the reasoning behind such a difference (and the 6-cyl itself) is more about regulatory compliance (average consumption across a manufacturer's vehicle lineup) and perhaps marketing, as opposed to actual customer preferences - it is after all a luxury sports car for people with relatively deep pockets.

That's my 2 cents. I'd love an F30 M3 and maybe someday will move to one, but before that I'll happily save $25k+ and get a clean pre-owned E90 M3 LCI, and pay an extra $50/month in fuel for N/A throttle response and 8,250 rpm.

According to http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/ne...nd-m4-revealed , this is a combined figure. So, what will it get as a highway mpg? 30+? That would be so awesome

Man, this thing better drive like it's on rails! I've spent less then half the cash this thing will be worth, and it's going to be just as fast in a straight line (MT vs MT). Give me just a little more time to complete my M3 suspension swap, and my E92 may be just as dangerous.....

correct on supply and demand.
there are new demand, tech, and features. these are happening everywhere but not only on the Tiger edition m3, Lime Rock edition m3, x3, x5, Hyundai , s class, etc. manufacturers can possibly change their design concepts too.

it was only a question.

problem was, he stated BMW will Lose customers because of introducing something Useless due to a specific Race.

I think Bimmerpost could just code a script bot that would post as the obligatory 335 owner:

"I've spent less...and it's going to be just as fast in a straight line...just wait until my M3 suspension swap and then..."

Thanks for your surprising contribution. At least the Xtranormal version of your commentary is good for a laugh or two.

Holy shit, we're on a forum and you're annoyed with someones opinion. Not everyone has to share the same opinion as you to voice it. If I feel that NOT spending the amount of cash that's going to need to be spent on this, and instead spending it on something that will be just as fast, cost half as much, and have my own personality, then so be it. I love my E92, but the M3/4 just isn't worth getting out of it.

Deal with it.

My guess is that it will start around $65k USD. It will probably touch $90k for the coupe with the growing options list. My E92 M3 was about $76k with pretty much all of the options except extended leather.
