We were discussing the Individual colors that will become available 'per catalog'.

Yes, the 435 is more performance than almost anyone needs. People will buy this car because it's an M4 and they want an M4. They want the big hips, super wide tires, and hood scoop. The M mystique.

Butttttt I can't see myself daily driving it. Heck, I used to think my E93 M3 was one of the best daily drivers… until I got my Sl550. It's not as sport, but it's a much better DD. I haven't tracked it yet, so I can't comment on it's track characteristics. I'm really looking forward for the new M4 convertible. I could definitely see myself tracking one Quote:
I had a FBO 450wtq E93 335i…. I always "beat" M3s in a straight line… it wasn't until I started tracking that I realized how much of a better overall performance car the M3 is. Chassis, LSD, overall balance, NA>FI…. the M3 is definitely a better performance car than a 335i, hands down. I was considering a 435 vert to replace my E350 (I need at least 4 seats and decent trunk space…. the 435 barely has that but man.. the E350 is just too damn boring..)… But I'm going to wait for the M4 vert. Hopefully once I drive it, it'll be worth the price tag. Otherwise, I'll need to look at a 535 or 550 (M5 if my budget allows)

Also, it's not all about performance. It's about feeling when you drive these cars as well. You are comparing two different cars with completely different characters. Different engines, different transmissions, different differentials, different steering systems, different suspensions, different exhausts, different fenders, different bumpers, different rims, different instrument clusters, different seats,...etc. The only common part is "BMW 4 series Convertible".

Take it from a guy who went from an E60 sport package to an F10 a little too quickly - if the things you wrote above are important to you, you should spend a lot of time in the F10 before you commit to one. It is an excellent car, but far more like an E350 than like any 5 series of the past.

Back on topic to the M4 convertible, what is your guess as to when we can actually place an order in the US,
June, July , August, Sept ???? What are your dealers saying. My Dealer here is saying order in September, that doesn't quite seem to make sense with Jason timeline |

I believe it is... I had asked to be on a waiting list like, the week before they were able to place orders for demo cars... I think it was just after they officially announced it at the NYIAS... Anyway, I had called to follow up and they said the order bank had just opened up - he wasn't sure if it was their demo car order or not, but it's listed as priority-1 / customer sold with my name on it and the specs I asked for, and requested production date of week 27, so... We'll see shortly.

But - compared to the E60, the F10 is quite a bit heavier and is sprung more loosely. I have the DHP package, and I'd say that in the Sport+ setting, it feels about 80% as tight as my sport package E60 did. The F10 is incrementally larger than the E60 was - but in the driving, the E60 seemed to shrink around me, while the F10 feels even larger than it is. Fast? Absolutely. The 550 is holy-crap fast and even the 535 feels faster than my V8 E60 did. I live at altitude; which has something to do with it. So there is nothing wrong with the F10 at all, as long as you expect a car with more emphasis on luxury and less on sport, compared to the E60. The M5, apparently, is a different story, but obviously it's at a whole other price point.

On another thread for BMW Individual
http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=975428 it says that individual interior leather colors could be available for M4 Convertibles from Fall 2014 on. I'm getting a clarification from my BMW agent on this. |

Also, as I understand it, you can order the 'verts but there's no allocations yet so the orders don't really mean anything - i.e. there's no production dates. |

I have a vert ordered with PW 32 (with confirmed prod no.) and a Munich ED office guaranteed ED delivery date of Sept 12th (first official ED day for the vert!). Also have Individual Amaro leather and Individual Piano Black trim in a maxed out option list. Thought I'd clarify some of the comments above re availability of these options - best to talk to BMWNA directly and they will give you the availability details (although I do suspect exterior Individual paint colors to take longer tone available).
