European Delivery Drop Off Location

Can you change your drop off location during the trip if needed?

Also, does this need to be decided before the purchase order is completed?

thanks

Your ED PO will require a stated drop off location to complete it.

And, yes you can change it. The BMW web site says to allow 4 days advance notice and you will need to contact directly the drop off location. Make sure you check for holidays and closures, especially outside of Germany.

Just be advised that the German locations EXCEPT MUNICH are only open on weekdays. Saturdays requires an appointment and it's a half day...10:30-1:30. If you need help and you are going when we will be there June 18-July 4th then PM me and I can advise.

I'm in your group!

Just asking the question because I had heard different things from a couple of friends who are also going. I still need to figure out where I'll end up since we need to have the PO done asap. I'm staying until the 1st of July.

Somehow my dealer is sending out the purchase order to me for signature without ever inquiring about my drop off location and date.

FYI...It looks like the drop off location at Munich Airport (MUC) offers after hours drop times for an additional charge of either 50 or 200 Euros. Below is part of the email I received from LOGINOUT confirming a 9:00a drop-off on Tuesday, July 1st (during regular hours) where they also mention times and cost for after hours drop off:

we booked you in on the 1st of July at 9:00
See you then
We are open Monday thru Friday 08:30am to 04:30pm and Saturday 10:00am to 02:00pm except Sundays and all legal German holidays.
The latest possible appointment would be 04:00pm, on Saturday 1:30pm.
We provide off hour drop off as well.
From 16:30h till 18:30h and 7:00h till 8:30h – 50€
and 19:00h till 7:00h –200€
Saturday from 14:00h till Monday 7:00h – 200€
Sunday and Holiday : 200€

They probably assumed MUC because that's where most people are going to fly into. It's changeable, though with I think 4 days notice to ED dept. Right now since it's so early it and we need to hustle to get the POs done, then that's probably what they chose for you. Where are you flying into and out of? If they picked something other than MUC, what did they pick?

Not sure what they picked.... Dealer doesn't have the best communication skills (having to order from out of state). I'm flying into munich and out if dusseldorf. Not sure where I will drop off yet ( Antwerp, frankfurt, munich, Amsterdam,... TBD). Planning out the last few days of the trip tomorrow.

Oh, I thought they already sent you the PO to sign. The port will be listed on there already so that's where I was confused. However, you can sign the PO today and have them change in next month..

If you're flying out of Dusseldorf, the closest drop off is Frankfurt. That's where I will drop my car off, so if you need help with that then I can help out. I'll probably be coming back from London by then. Since you are leaving on a weekday, you should have no problem. Just hitch the train to the airport and you're good.
