Yes - the M4 could still win me over based on (perceived) driving position and its sexy frameless doors (yes, I'm weird). Obviously will have to drive both...

OP, thanks for sharing. It really gives a perspective from a consumer and not from a dealer.

and Keto your Fuck beige is going to end up in my signature soon. It just sums it up so well.
The sad part is I briefly considered SB when I thought it had a yellowish tint (ooo, edgy) but then realized I would need a live, side-by-side comparison to show me that it's just another BMW beige that I don't ever, ever want to see again.

Brown, on the other hand, is fantastic. I was tempted to wait a month to get Amaro Brown but ED, summer vacation and kids take precedence. Plus, now I've got the SO/SO combo that scares the weak.

haha. I would love to go to Europe alone, but sadly it's not an option this year. I haven't had a vacation in nine years, so this year I'm dumping the family, and going off on my own. The spouse has been on his own way too much on business trips, so payback is a bitch, like I.

Your combination will be so good, just don't let the wife drive it.

Agreed, Sonoma Beige looks great to me. And that def looks like piano black (which was my first choice) but thought it wasnt available.

Is this an individual option not available in the US?

It looked like Anthracite Wood trim to me. If so, I believe that is a normal option for US. But piano black would be individual.

Cheers.

But i think less noise than in an M135i. M3 will be my first full M car, so i can not compare to old models. It is a lot more quiet and comfortable than any Porsche (911, Boxster) or an Audi R8.

I could easily drive 1000 km in a day. For me, i would appreciate more noise actually...

On the first few kilometres i was actually slightly disappointed, because the car felt just like a 3 series. The comfort settings are not for me, and i ended up putting everything into Sport+ Setting, and left it there. This is the way to get this car alive. Even that felt a lot more comfortable, than a Porsche Boxster for example.

In the end, i think every review so far is true in certain concerns. It is superfast, and in the sport settings i had no issues about throttle Response. Everything instant.
On the other hand, i expected a little bit more "grunt". The car does everything in a quite "engineered" way. If you take a Mc Laren MP4 and compare it to a 458 Italia,
the M3 is more Mc Laren. I don't know how to explain it better. This car in the right Hands will be mindblowing fast. But a little bit "aseptic" aswell.

But then you have torque and torque and then... more torque. From any speed you accelerate, you will reach 250 quite fast. On the Autobahn the car felt more powerful than i remember my Audi R8 V8. A lot more...
did you notice a lot of wind noise insde the M3 becasue I know the F30 3er have massive wind noise.

I agree, the i8 really is an interesting car. Much better looking in real life. And shows the direction of future BMW's.

Btw... I have a friend who works for BMW AG... he sampled an i8 for a week. Interesting thing is he never had to plug the i8 into a charging station, to recharge the i8's batteries!! In normal driving condistions, the i8's engine(and brakes) charged the battery up to "full". So I think the i8 will continue to surprise its owners.

I also have "heard" that the i8 has been tested with some "other" engines not of three cylinders. There will never be a M version... but I think we might see some more "potent" versions down the line.

@ SlowSaloonM3

I did not notice that.

But i have to admit, i was very occupied with the new cars. Basically we changed cars every 30 minutes or so. Too much impressions for my poor brain in too short time :-)

Yes it does seem that the "more M5 than 1M" unfortunately seem to be true. Quite annoying that BMW went this route given the overwhelmingly positive reviews of the 1M compared to the often panned M5. I'm no fan of the M5 myself but I find it impossible from the specifications that they are that much alike. I do suspect that F8X is one of those cars that will quietly find it's way to your heart after a somewhat lukewarm underwhelming first meet. At least that's what I hope for

On a couple of posts in the past some have said that Sonoma Beige looks darker in real life than in the pictures, almost more like caramel. Did you notice that, or is it as light as your pictures appear? What did you think of the Mineral Gray?
