Just throwing this out there...I grabbed this from Simply Tires web site
M3 & M4 (2015+) 19” Options: 4 x 19” F30 M3 Replica 4 x 255/35/19 4 x Plastic Tire Bags 4 x Mounting, Balancing and Install Option 1 Conti WinterContact TS830P 96V XL - $2,210.00 Option 2 package Bridgestone Blizzak LM32 96H XL - $2,220.00 Option 3 package with Pirelli W240 Sottozero II 96V XL MO -$2,250.00 Option 4 package with Michelin Pilot PA4 96V XL - $2,270.00 Option 5 Dunlop Wintersport 3D 96V XL - $2,380.00 Option 6 Pirelli W240Sottozero II 92H RFT XL - $2,510.00 I was thinking about Option 2. Perhaps if we can get a good number of orders Allen will do even better? I know they are reps but who cares, they are for snow and salt anyway. |

do they have an 18" option?
I agree the wheels are for crap weather however the winter is when you get the crap roads and the reps just are not as solid, if they are going to crack it will be under cold conditions and pot holes for around the same cost I would much rather do an 18" brand name alloy wheel |

I agree, my preference would be 18" Apex wheels. Not too picky about the tire.
19" wheels to me are just overkill for the winter. Unless your car is equipped with CCB then you don't have any other choice. 18" keeps the cost of both wheels and tires down. |

It sounds to me like the Apex wheel is more expensive, as in closer to $3k for an 18" wheel and tire package. A bit steep IMO. |

Here's the deal...
Regular price on 18x9.5 would be in the $1,650.00 range So I can do the $100 off a winter package (APEX only) if we install, $130 off if you guys pick them up mounted/balanced $50 off on a set of rims alone (no tires) 255-40-18 Snows: Bridgestone Blizzak LM32 99V XL - $1,080.00 Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 99V XL - $1,080.00 Continental TS830P 99V XL - $1,220.00 Pirelli 240 Sottozero II 99V or 95V- $1,230.00 Dunlop WinterSport 3D 95V - $1,280.00 Pirelli 240 Sottozero II RFT 95H- $1,330.00 Bridgestone Blizzak LM32 99V XL RFT - $1,410.00 This should be highly competitive, and im here to work with you guys if we can nail something down before my rush + taxes In short the package would be $1,650/ set of wheels. Then add the tires of your choice. In my case Blizzak will be $2,730.00 - $130.00 picked up + taxes Allen would need at least 6 confirmed orders to move forward, if he had 11 he could do a little better still. Happy Long Weekend! |

This sounds good. Curious to know what others suggest as tires and why? Would love to get a bit of education here
Also, is there benefit in the run-flats during winter? |

Hakka 8's seems to be the popular choice and rated the "best" winter tire. Michelin PA4's get great reviews as well. I'll be going with one of these 2 for my winter set up.

For what it's worth, I ran LM-32s last year and they performed great for the most part (considering they're a performance tire). That said, I'll be replacing them with Nokian Hakapeliitta 8s when they're wear out.

That said, Ottawa tends to get quite a bit more snow than Toronto does, so you guys may fare better with the more performance geared tires than we do. In the end, either will do the job as long as you're driving for the conditions and limitations of the tires.

As some of you may be aware there is a group buy going on right now out of the US. https://www.groupbuyparts.com/index....e-gb-2016.html
This is for Apex wheels and there is a $100 shipping cost for us Canadians. Free shipping only applies to US addresses. We will also be hit with some duty fees so I'm still certain it will be more cost effective to shop locally. I'll ask around as well to see if we can get a group buy going through a local dealer. |
