$20 service charge for replacement car

Parkview is telling me that all BMW dealers in the GTA charge $20 service charge for replacement car.

Is this true? I have never been charged this at any other dealer

that's cheap. Others are charging $40 for bimmer and $20 for non bimmers.

There are ways to get around it. If you are in for warranty and you book your time way ahead, your service advisor can waive the charge (if you push the SA a bit more for a free loaner).

I asked for a complimentary BMW loaner when I had my car serviced in September and they had to keep my car over a weekend. My SA said he could probably get the loaner fee waived (non BMW's are free) but when I came by to pickup my car on the Monday he said that he couldn't get it waived. I told the SA that I have had 4 BMW's with the dealership over the past 11 years and I would really appreciate if he could try again to get it waived. He made a call to his manager and got it waived........so it does seem like they are tightening up on free BMW loaners but it is possible if you try hard enough.

Yes you can get a free loaner, but you also have to pay for regular maintenance. I rather get 4 year free maintenance then getting free loaner. If you have owned a Mercedes you know how much they charge for regular oil change, something close to $300.

Tru I paid close to $600 for my GL service, and around $350 for a c class.

Is it per day or per incident for loaner?

For guys paying for loaner, have you been asked to pay per day or per incident?

My SA said per incident but recently they have changed to per day.

I would argue, esp. if it's warranty related which your car is totally undrivable and waiting for parts to come in.

Audi and Mercedes don't charge.

but as you mentioned BMW policy is the "fee"

which doesn't make sense if their competing with Audi and Mercedes for customers.

believe it or not this sort of "customer service" goes a long way.

offtopic.

Budds for winter tire change up (swapping my summer wheels to winters) is $70+tax with no wash for old wheels. Budds wants extra for this.

Mercedes Burlington - same scenario winter wheels swap out. $45+tax wash old wheels and bag.

its not the price its the convenience factor.

I took it to Benz FYI
