It's likely a folding mirror. The E9x M3 also has a gap (though it's hard to gauge how big or small relative to the F8x) if equipped with power folding mirrors. Aesthetically a bit tawdry, but you get over it.

Looks awesome. The mirror is a bit weird, hope the gap looks a bit less noticeable without the camo.
I too wish it had vents next to the power dome. Looks pretty mean on the E92. |

Thanks for the pics. I'm still not a big fan of what BMW had to do to the front of the 3/4-series to comply with European pedestrian safety regs but that wouldn't keep me from getting one. I definitely like the wide track.
To anyone on here, are we going to get the LED lights shown on the 4-series concept? Those were awesome. |

I can't give out my opinion now? To me, hood vents drastically enrich the sportiness of the car. What's wrong with me giving my opinion out on a forum to discuss?

I've been really impressed looking at the composure and speed of the car during 'ring testing videos so hope it turns out to be a big step over the E9x. Assuming performance checks out, my impression of styling will more of an impact on my choice of color than anything else...
