Yeah I think all black wheels are played out at this point. I'm going strait Silver on my order unless I just go 18s and buy some HREs like on the E90.

19 inch two tone wheel color question
I am still deciding which 19 inch wheel to choose.
It would made my choice a lot easier if black wheel is actually all black. Anyway, does anyone know if silver part of the black wheel is actually same color as other gray 19 inch wheel? In some picture, it looks darker (like gunmetal) and in other pictures, it looks very similar. |

I saw them in person, looked like a black chrome to me. Didn't look two-tone to my eye.
They are a much different color than the silver rim, which I also saw in person. |

If they don't look two-tone in person then I will be getting them. If they look in person like they do in the photos then I will pass. The photos make them look too ricey. |

Do they look very two-tone in person? Some have said that the outer part looks much darker than the pictures show.

They do look darker but its not like something it will grab your attention... I was all for black wheels but I am changing my mind after seeing the two tone wheels in person.

My take is that if you don't like the two-tone look, then opt out of these wheels. You will not like their appearance in many common lighting situations. |

To ensure the right wheels are ordered, what code will be given to the salesperson if only two choices are available. I'd hate for the all black to be ordered when in fact I'm wanting the two toned wheels.

There are no all black option. See below for codes and wheel colours.

There's really almost no chance that the US 2VZ ends up being monotone, all-black while the ROW 2VZ clearly is the two-tone from every indication we've seen from every other country's ordering information so far. It's just that we don't have the official info from BMW USA yet, and thus the slight doubt remains when you consider the evidence in light of these all-black wheels we've seen on some cars. You can be all but certain you'll get the two toned wheel if you order 2VZ, and if it turns out not to be true you will know in plenty of time to change the order. Just my 2 cents. |

It was hard to figure whether the show wheels were black or silver because of the lighting, depending on the angle of the view. It appears that they are 2-toned in this photo, but I think it's just the way the light hits it. I'm nearly positive that this is the Black Wheel shown on the UK Configurator. It has a high gloss surface that reflects the light and causes the 2-tone appearance.

Hope I'm not hijacking the thread, but does anyone know the weights of the 18" and 19" wheels.
I'm not loving the 2- tone look of the 19's, and if the 18 are lightweight, I might opt for them and use them as a designated track setup (with r compound rubber), and then buy some 19's that I really love the look of as my daily setup... |

I'm looking to spec a car and am totally confused by the wheel options. For the record I hate all black wheels and actually like the two tone jobs.
On the UK site there are only two options 1) 475M 19'' alloys. These appear to be two toned with aluminium looking outer spokes and the inner part of the spokes and hub are a light grey/titanium type colour. 2) 475M 19'' alloy wheels/black. These also appear two tone but with the central part a dark glossy black and the outer part a dark grey colour. I have no idea how these correlate with the wheels I have seen on the various show photos on this site

There is no correlation. At the moment these rims are available on Belgian configurator: 18" (one type, apparently not available in UK) and both types of the 19" you mentioned. That's it. |

Hi So are you saying that the two options available in the UK have never appeared on any of the show cars to date? Thanks

To put and end to the confusion: UK M3/M4 only comes with 19 inch wheels- the 18s are not even an option. The two 19 inch wheels available are the same but in different colours, ferric grey and jet black. Both wheels have been seen on the cars at the various shows. The 'jet black' option is pictured below:

That would be great if what you say turn out to be the case here in the U.S. I don't understand why BMW would call the two toned wheel jet black. Hope you're right, those are the wheels I prefer. Now if BMW would offer a wider choice of colors. |

It sucks that I will need to put the car on the jack stands for several days, while the wheels come off and get powder coated. Buying a set just to be able to drive for a couple of days seems impractical.

Later on, people will be able to pick up low or "zero" mile take-offs before their cars arrive, and for relatively good prices too if history is a good indicator. |
