How long at port before dealer arrival?
So my car got to the Port of Baltimore at 9/22. My dealer is about an hour/hour and half drive from the the port.
I've had another member here that had his car on the same ship as mine going to the same dealer. His car was delivered on 9/28 to the dealer. I just called Genius and they say my car is still at the port. Now I did order CF front splitter, CF spoiler, and CF mirror caps which I am told is installed at the port which might be the cause of delay, but does it really take that long to install some CF parts? I am now more concerned about possibly this car being damaged and repairs being done. Is there any way to find out, maybe a number to call the port to get some info? Or does anyone know if this is normal to have the car at the port for this long for them to install the CF parts? Thanks in advance. |

patience it can take a while. Lots of cars on those boats that they need to go through, lots of parts being installed as well. Just comes down to position in line your car was/is.
you are on the home stretch! Wait will be worth it. work with your sales rep, they can get a rough idea from the port in some situations

Any damage would have been conveyed to your dealer. If he hasn?t advised you (assuming he?s honest) then you need to be patient.
Good luck. |

My ED car arrived at the Port on 9/7, released to trucking on 9/15, was at the dealership on 9/20 (literally down the street from the port), and ready for me on 9/21.

I just received call from my CA and ensured me there was no damage to the car or anything. It's just taking a bit installing these parts. The wait continues though....

Damage disclosure?
I have read that if damage exceeds 3% value the car is made available to the employee / distributor pool, but damage <3% will be repaired and disclosed by the vdc. My concern is that I don’t know if I can trust the dealer to tell me! After all, repairs are supposedly done “to bmw standards”, which is likely “good enough” in their mind (It isn’t ‘their’ car). Replacing a damaged wheel is one thing, but a damaged quarter panel is quite another.
When the car leaves the vpc, will the ‘genius’ be able to tell if there is a disclosure? |

btw, the repairs to my car were flawless. Also, I had rashed one of wheels while driving it in Europe and they replaced the wheel at the VPC (nice touch, I thought).
