Tombarrra showed back up on marinetraffic.com this morning, right on time. Fingers crossed now that there are no traffic control issues in Halifax or New York.

Thanks. This is my first time going through this and I can't wait to get my hands on my car again, even if will be during the snowy months to come.

That's impressive how quickly they can load em up and secure under deck for the Atlantic crossing.

The Port of Halifax's site shows a pilot boat scheduled to escort the Tombarra into the Autoport at 4:30 am on the 6th, and another to escort her out to sea at 7:30 pm!

I think that there'll be a bit of a black hole now and that your sales person will be able to access whatever little info is available until delivery at the dealership. You may need some good mind-altering drugs for the next week or so!

I often wonder if technology is really a good thing for stuff like this. My dad ordered a car in the 80's and it took 3 months. There was no tracking, just a phone call to tell him it arrived. In that situation I think I would have just forgot about it then been surprised when someone called me telling me my car was in!

I often wonder how many other things in my "digital" life occupy so much attention of mine that I can do nothing about and whether "digital" is doing me any favors. I am no better than a Pavlovian trained information dog....and here I sit staring at Tombarra!

Well, per my remote app, my car shows connected at 17:57 today and has a range of 85 km. So I suppose this means they drove it to the holding facility.

Oh btw, it looks like the vessel is on its way to NYC as of 8:33 pm EST.

Thanks. I have the app loaded on my phone but never tried to connect it to my car when I was Europe thinking it was a US-only thing. So it looks like I've got to wait until the car is redelivered now.

Not sure but I didn't have it on during my ED either.

Interesting. When I tried to add my car, the app required me to input a code from the iDrive screen.

Anyway, keep us posted on the Halifax-Toronto transit. Good luck.

@Parabolica even though your car is off the boat, do you mind continuing to post vessel updates for NY/NJ crew!?

fyi, I'm watching it on MarineTraffic.com. Tombarra is currently south of Nova Scotia just east of the Gulf of Maine heading SSW toward Nantucket. It's due into NY at 10 am Wednesday, right on schedule!

Nice, saw that but it was showing last position if 1.5 hrs ago when I checked. Feel like Maine is deceivingly close and that it taking till tomorrow is unnecessarily long!!

Ya, 1.5 - 2 days from Halifax to NY is the norm. The only question now is whether the boat goes right into port or whether they make it wait outside for a bit, but it'll be back in range before that happens, so we'll know. From what I've seen in the past, Tombarra will be in NY tomorrow morning (1.5 days after it left Halifax).
