If I'm honest we really just need to make a video on the Frozen Polished wheels so you can get a better idea of how it's reacting in sunlight. Since it's Polished underneath it's causing this brightness effect once sunlight touches it that you just can't see in photos very well.

Yeah the photo makes it look like Satin Bronze, but that Polished action underneath is hard to photograph in a studio. I'll bring it up and see what we can do.

I assume these are HRE P101, but can anyone identify the finish used on these wheels? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Do you know how the dark brushed clear finish compares to the BBS FI-R in platinum silver? It's difficult to tell in pictures and I have seen neither in person.

I have seen both in person and actually own HRE's in dark brushed clear myself. Imo there is no comparison between the two as far as finish is concerned. Dark brushed clear looks so damn good, with that dark brushing tint on the wheel. Platinum silver does absolutely nothing for me! Again this is my opinion and I recommend trying to see them in person if possible. BBS should have offered FI R's in the diamond blk option. My vote HRE's in dark brushed clear, Hope this helps

Since I have seen neither in person can you compare the finish to the silver 666 competition wheels? In some pictures brushed dark clear appears perfect, and in others a bit too dark for me. Do you know what other HRE finishes would be considered lighter (closer to the silver on the BMW stock wheels) in relation to brushed dark clear, or is brushed dark clear close to the silver BMW finish on stock wheels?

Dark brushed clear is not close to silver 666 wheels. Its a darker finish with the tint and not silver. If your looking for a silver finish you may want to consider brushed clear instead of dark brushed clear. It all depends if you want the tint or more of a silver clear look. Lighting and reflection plays alot into it as well. What color is your car?

Brushed clear in photos appears too light (white) to me. Do you know of any finishes they have that are close to the stock BMW wheels, or something that is more silver? Others chime in if you have seen any. I know HRE has a ton of finishes to choose from and it's not easy to pick the right one. How about Brushed Tinted Clear? In pictures that appears to be more silver. I am trying to get the rims a bit lighter than brushed dark clear but not too light.

I inquired about brushed tinted clear to HRE when I ordered my wheels from them. I was told that this option is no longer available. You may want to double check again if anything has changed. Dark brushed clear is the "new" tinted clear

The BMW OEM 666M star wheels appear to have just a machined face with a clear coat over it and then the windows (surface area between the spokes) are in a gloss gray color.

HRE does not have a plain machine face finish but the closest thing to it would be Brushed Clear. You can also do the two-tone affect with the HRE's and have the windows in gloss charcoal. Doing that will actually trick the eye into thinking that the Brushed Clear face is darker that what it is.

Brushed Tinted Clear was dropped by HRE a few years back and they will not bring it back as I have asked for many of my customers.

What HRE wheel are you considering purchasing? I can show you some various finishes on that wheel to help.

HRE P101. Are the rims in the following video Brushed Dark Clear?:

Also, what is the difference in terms of appearance between Brushed Dark Clear and Polished Dark Clear?

Yes, the wheels in the video are Brushed Dark Clear.

Polished Dark Clear will have the same tone but more of a mirror like appearance to it. The outer lip on the wheel below is Polished Dark Clear:

Took some better pictures today of my Flows, 265/30/20 in the front and 295/30/20 rear. Love the concavity and couldn't be happier with my purchase.
