Tire/Wheel warranty question.

My finance CA was trying to sell me wheel and tire warranty and mentioned that it also covers aftermarket wheels/tires. I was not aware of this due to a previous sales CA at another dealership mentioning that it only covers stock wheels. Does anyone have a definitive answer?

Thanks in advance.

It is probably best to read the terms and conditions of the policy as there may be different policies sold by different dealers.

It depends on the warranty provider its possible it may be covered. For the most part only stock wheels and oem tires fall under this.

I was thinking this would probably be dealer specific. I wasn't offered any literature, however good idea to ask when I go back next week for my genius appointment.

They should be able to email you a PDF of the policy. You can read it at home and then just make sure the policy they give you to sign is the same one.

Sales people can say anything. Whether you believe what they tell you or not is on you. Bottom line, once your signature is on the contract, the only thing that is truth is what is spelled out in black and white in the contract. You can't go back and say "But my CA told me...". Read the contract.

My contract language is pretty clear. And your dealer should be able to provide you with a copy of the policy any time, so don't let them BS you.

"WE agree to pay YOUR or a licensed repair facility for the fair market costs to replace the original tires and repair/replace wheels equipment on YOUR VEHICLE that fail due to contact with a ROAD HAZARD with equipment of like kind and quality"

and later on

"COVERAGE IS LIMITED TO THE MANUFACTURER'S ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRES AND WHEELS OR COMPARABLE OR LIKE REPLACEMENTS AS DEEMED NECESSARY BY OUR ADMINISTRATOR"

and yet later

"Special provisions relating to aftermarket wheels: in the event that the VEHICLE has damage to an aftermarket wheel, please be advised that it may not be possible for the repair facility to locate an exact matching replacement wheel. Aftermarket wheels are generally discontinued after a certain time period. It is the responsibility of the repair facility (or customer) to locate a replacement. If a matching replacement can not be found, a cash settlement will be made to the CONTRACT HOLDER in the amount for which the original damaged wheel was purchased"
