I have a pair of FTP tuning charge pipes. The fit is 100% perfect. No rubbing and or touching anywhere, only thing I did was rotate the grommet connector out a bit.

No heat soak on silicone vs aluminum would be the main benefit, plus the silicone has a little more flexibility to adjust fitment. Less connections since no coupler is required for the silicone “pipes” so fewer potential spots for boost leaks as well. Either will work, but Tom@eas recommend the EaS silicone charge pipes to me so I went that route.

ESS silicone pipes are 5-ply, typically reserved for tractors/diesels that see 3x the boost levels we're running.

We have a few hundred sets of chargepipes in the wild. I've personally corrected about half a dozen botched installs from "experienced" techs who simply don't understand that they need to loosely fit the pipes with the cover on first prior to tightening everything down

ESS silicon pipes here, fits great, no issues. BM3 stage 1.
I had an aftermarket set before (aluminum) which did have fitment/rubbing issues, but worked. Actually, I still have them, need to sell them. |

Ess people. Can you please do me a small favour and take some pictures of the chargepipes fitted without the engine cover. Ideally showing the rear pipe as it bends down as mine is rammed against the liner!! And also the front Airbox. I think mine might need adjusting
