Agreed. Tanzanite or don't even bother owning a BMW.

Dude just get what you like. You can't go wrong with any BMW blue. For some reason BMW knows how to do blues!
But you either gravitate towards the darker or the brighter blues.
Depends what you are after. The Darker and the Medium, blues (Lemans, Tanzanite, Avus, etc) will have a deep deep gloss when all cleaned and polished up, where as the lighter ones (Atlantis, Yas Marina, etc) are brighter but won't have that super deep glassy look. They will have gloss just not that deep deep glass look. I prefer the medium with the deep gloss look. It accents the body lines of the car.

I picked Hera Mica like a week ago, still waiting on approval by BMW individual.

I've worked with Individual 3 times now, ultimately never doing any big builds, but that's mostly because of their ... uniqueness. They seem to make assumptions / decisions for you no matter how specific you get, and do so in an "of course you wanted this" way.

In their defense, none of their changes have ever been a big deal, but it still happened ...

One small example is my e-brake this year which I specifically ordered a certain way. it didn't come that way. They explained, "oh, my colleagues felt of course you wanted it this way because otherwise blah blah blah." They didn't add, "plus you're clearly a moron" but they could've. I'm not disagreeing.

Having done a lot of business and partnering with Siemens in Munich, they were kind of that same way, "Yes of course we agreed to that, but in execution obviously that makes no sense so of course we did it this way"

My point is, you actually wanted Petrol Mica.

Petrol Mica was an OG E46 M3 Individual colour. Petrol Mica on Kiwi... Mmmmmm.

Any who, i also agree Tanzanite is an awesome colour. I didn't think I'd like it as it reminded me of a brighter Carbon Black and thus would be almost black in anything but direct sunlight. Boy, I was wrong. It's much more navy blue IRL all the time, just really bright in sunlight. Great colour.

Good luck with getting Hera Mica approved! Hope it works out.

It's cool, but having seen it in person a few times it's too dark in my opinion. Looks almost like carbon black for it to be justified paying a premium for/not that unique.

As Carbon Black looks black in some light and blue in others, so Petrol Mica looks black in some light and green in others. It's my favourite Individual colour having had it on an E46 M3. I might revisit it on my next car.

Any news on your order smithf80. The colour looks a great choice. I was liking it to a deep Mediterranean Blue perhaps.

Status 102 with an expected Production week of 13, which is end of March. I'm hoping to see that car sometime in April. Ordered Hera Mica on Cohiba.
