Anyone have any idea of how long it takes for a week 40 / 41 build to be shipped to the west coast? Would be nice to have an ETA

I believe 6-8 weeks. There's a great thread on it here http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1181156

Apparently my car has finished production as of today on bmwusa.com (week 41?). Called genius for the first time today, its status code 190 so it should be on its way to the port in germany

My production date was yesterday and from what I've been reading this is the date it is complete.

Does anyone know if there are different ships to the US vs Canada? Or (more logically) they will go from Bremerhaven -> Halifax -> NY and onwards?

Week 40. Mineral Grey on Sakhir Orange. Looked up VIN's ahead of me using the tool. Looks like there are 47 M3's ahead of me. Lol.

The good thing is it seems like they're building 11 M3's a day.

You can either check out BMWVIN.com or Bimmer.Work. Just enter in the last 7 digits of your VIN. If you see a production date of 01-01-001, that means the car isn't finished yet. So what I did was go backwards by sequentially changing the last 3 digits of the VIN until I finally reached a car that had a production date.

Currently they are at 5G84193. I imagine by end of day, they will be at 5G84204.

Cool info!
Where did you find your VIN? I have a production # and build week, but not sure where to locate VIN.
Thanks!

Whoa, super interesting.

Just called Genius out of boredom and my production finish date was just bumped up again to Oct 1st, which would make it 8 days after I placed the order. Luck is on my side for sure.

Try contacting your CA. Once your car goes into status 150, that means your car is going into production soon. You should have a VIN by then.

Until the car is actually in production, you won't have a VIN yet.

As an aside, I checked the VIN's today and it hasn't changed from 194. So either they didn't produce any M3's today, or the system is late on updating.

Thanks for the tip on rolling the last few digits of the VIN. - Assuming they are produced in sequence, on Sept 26th it started on 5G84119 - Graushwarz, then a nardo grey, then a frozen silver, followed by a whole bunch of 30year special editions in Macao blue.

Ah nice, gotcha -- mine's already produced and last I checked was en route to the port. But great info for other folks here!

So last I checked, they are at 5G84239. Seems like they skipped a bunch after 5G84194. Noticed those were all special edition or individual colours. After skipping about 20 in sequence, it went back to ones that have production dates. And all those cars were just regular colour ones.

Based on this information, hopefully my plain MG should be completed tomorrow. One week ahead of schedule.

Anyone else waiting for an F80 week 39 or week 40 build that has a confirmed ship yet?

Canadian tracking sucks and tracking on the Wallenius page returns no records. Beginning to think perhaps its on a different shipping company.
