MYBMW now showing "01. Production Begins"! As of yesterday or today!

EDIT: Called BMW Genius on way home from work -- car has "started production" with the first stage ("collecting parts" she said). Scheduled completion of production on Aug 26... so officially Week 35 for me.

I spoke with a Genius today, so to speak. I am week 35, but she *insisted* that is the week of August 22nd, not the 29th. I told her I thought week 35 is the 29th, but she said 22nd.

They count the weeks weird! I'm scheduled for completion on August 18th which is week 33 according to Google. BMW calls it week 34

My M4 was scheduled as a week 35 build, but the Genius just told me it went into production today. It's supposed be finished the 23rd.

Ballpark, am I right to assume 5 days to get loaded, 3 weeks to the West Coast, and another week to get it to the dealer and delivered? That would mean I get it at the end of September.

Add another 5-6 days for shipping, it takes 26/27 days to get from Bremerhaven to Hueneme (according to w&w schedules). I would also add another couple days to get to the port and on a ship.

My vehicle production completed on Tuesday. Estimated to arrive at VDC on 01 Oct. The wait has been long indeed but the final stretch is in sight.

My Euro Delivery paperwork (for US Dealer to submit to BMW Germany) was delayed getting to my dealer (Baton Rouge LA) due to the recent flooding there.... hoping it won't delay my ED (9/19)!

I spoke to Genius today and they told me production confirmation is week 44?!? (which means it will start production end of October) which means delivery in December??

I ordered the car July 13 and the current status shows order accepted by bmw Germany as of yesterday. my dealership had originally told me I would have the car end of September or beginning of October.

if I am getting a 2017 MY in December (6 months before you can order a 2018) - I might as wait for a 2018..

please any feedback will be helpful - does the prod date move up? as mine is too late..

6 months to get the car is wayyyyy too long.

I have ordered an individual color Zcp MT

Mine only moved up one week and its not Individual or ED.

I'd just wait for the 2018.

No idea on time for individual orders... heard it can vary quite a bit depending on the circumstances and the request(s).

I just got my ED packet in mail yesterday! Luggage tags and all!

There are several threads which show how long an individual order can take..

BMW says it will take additionally 10 to 12 weeks for an indiv color, indiv interior can add again 3 to 5 weeks.

BTW an F80 is a lot quickier built than a F82/F83, because of the current order status.

So an individual M4 can take up to 7 months from order date, but an individual M3 (int.+ext., like mine) can be built during 3 months.

Can you explain this a bit more? Not clear to me why an individual order for an M3 would be done more quickly than for an M4?

The answer is quite simple, it does not only have to do with the individual options, but with the models itself.

Here in Germany or the EU a lot more M4s are ordered/requested than M3s. It would nearly guess a ratio von 2:1.

My dealers' finance guy called to confirm numbers for the loan today - actually pretty stoked since I get the benefit of the following:

- 0.9 % APR loan for 72 months (purchasing not leasing)
- Zero down payment
- USAA member certificate discount ($1000). The cert said for 3-series including M vehicles it was $1500 but they claim that it's only $1000 if financed with BMW FS.... still better than no discount at all however.

With my negotiated price + USAA $1K discount, I calculate I'm at about $300-$500 over dealer invoice which is good in my book.

Of course there is almost $500 in misc. fees that include title / registration, and included in that $500 is $200 of "DOC Fees"... think others may have negotiated that downward too, but I'm happy enough with the overall deal I'm not interested in haggling for every last dime.
